Fun game. Feels like the classic style i loved from the underground days but with more story line acting cringe bundled in. Would still prefer these games to have a disgusting amount of mod options for every single car to give me hours and hours and horus of just having fun modding, like i used to on underground, but the game is satisfactory enough on that for me to leave a review.

Do think the game gets a little frustrating at times when you're trying to go for a simple challenge start and close by you're detected by 3-5heat cops and end up spending 5+ minutes trying to outrun them just to get back to the meet up area to start it.

That being said, i have 0 regrets on paying full price.

NOW MAKE IT STEAMDECK COMPATIBLE!

Enjoyed this very much but there's things that make it not worth buying just yet.

I love the humour in this game and it really feels like a needed tone after the amount of serious shooters and games we all play on a daily basis. Even though i'm not much of a fan of Rick n Morty, I definitely found the humour in this great and not at all tiring. There was enough diverse joke telling but in the same field that it didn't eventually grind on me and make me turned off the gun interactions.

The shooting in this feels good and responsive, the movement is fluid and the graphics are very cool.

That being said i'd like to mention the game's 2 Achilles heel: The short span of the story mode and how easy it is to not die.
I completed it in roughly 8.5-9 hours and i'm a fairly explorative guy, didn't rush through it and even though there was no benefit to it, i found myself shooting enemies repeatedly in areas i necessarily didn't need to...as there's no drops, no XP levelling etc. I also didn't die once, I played on normal and most games I come close or definitely die a bunch of times as it's a story mode and i'm not sweating it out to be the best ever. I get that a much harder setting would make it tough but I've seen on multiple reviews that even changing to a much harder setting just gives them more health and doesn't actually impact the fact they barely ever hit you with their bullets much.

On those basis, I feel like the price is maybe a bit steep.

I'm however in a lucky position to afford this game and also was great and fun content for my twitch chat to watch and react to.

If you had the spare money and you want a change of tone for a game i'd say go for it, it's definitely a laugh and there's also extra bits in the game to discover once completed, like Easter eggs, alternate situations and treasure chests.
If you want a longer experience, based on the price of the game i'd say wait till it's on sale but then definitely buy it.

Things I think it needs to improve:

Gun balancing, better hit accuracy by enemies, FPS lock-ability setting, FOV setting.

I don't write many reviews, no really, check my account. But this is a game i feel like i have sunken enough hours in to really get a feel for how the game is and how everything as a whole surrounding this game is perfect.
I'll start with how I backed this on Kickstarter because I thought it looked cool. I'm not absolutely huge on classic style FPS's, i did play doom growing up, but it wasn't exactly my entire life. I enjoyed it growing up and that's about as far as that goes.

With that being said, I would just like to extend my absolute LOVE for this game in many different ways, inside and outside of the game.

I have sunken many hours into the game play, the main campaign levels are mega fun, flow well and don't feel like a chore after a certain time in a level. There's a level of freedom within each level but also a direction, so you never ever feel like you're lost, especially when you have the automap to hand. The game is smooth as a whole, there's lots of super cool elements in the game's options too, ranging from having the top graphics possible all the way down to CRT style and pixelated retro feeling video quality. There's a good range of gun's for now with some being simple to understand shooters all the way down to homing bullets and a plasma gun that can change projectile angles.

Moving onto the piece I love the most about this game - the level designer.

I can't lie, probably 250 of the hours in this game have been sunken into designing levels. We're not talking like old school Tony Hawk park editor where you have a floor and just drag and drop items on there then press play, there's a higher level of understanding of how to use the in built editor in prodeus. There's a whole youtube of how to do practically everything but it's VERY rewarding to learn. It felt a little overwhelming at first but some basic understanding followed by hours of continuous use made it so i could make even the most professional looking levels. It's the exact same level design tool that the actual prodeus team use, so you get all of their assets to use just as they would.

But one of the most amazing things aside of this is the discord community.

I have spent countless hours with the actual developers of the game, in an editor hangout, making levels for hours and hours on end. They're there to be friendly, helpful on hand and even watch their stream of them making levels. I have even had them take my level files and improve the optimisation on them and do other harder types of level design improvements and give it back to me, it's honestly amazing interaction from them.

I can't recommend this game enough, seriously.

If you're a gamer: you'll find gore ridden pleasure in stomping the hell out of flying fire spitting demons with your super shotgun

If you're a wannabe level designer: you'll find utter pleasure in the well helped learning process of level design followed by the amazing fun of seeing people test and play your levels...i'm addicted to seeing people on my level leaderboard!

GET THIS GAME.

Just bought this game out of pure impulse as i'm a drummer myself and absolutely love playing things like Rock Band etc etc..

PROS:

- Very fun.
- Visually not too disturbing and off putting when trying to concentrate on the specific hits you need to make.
- Looks failry good graphically in the levels.
- Very smooth and has a vey good possibilty of longevity value to it.

CONS:

- Drum hits you make do not sync with the audio at all, it's actually delayed by 1/8th of a bar on one of the first songs..this makes it entirely difficult to play the game wihtout fault.
- Navigation around the game is awkward, left trigger is pause (in game) which is easy to tap by accident when playing..right trigger is accept. The game just needs to use the typical point and click, like most VR games.
- Results screen resolution is terrible...the scoreboard is higher res than the background scoreboard image.
- You only have two songs on the game to start and can only start on easy and unlock the next difficulty by beating easy at a certain percentage...this makes the game very slow and tedious for people (myself in particular) who can play drums or these types of games better than just hitting one drum at a time for the whole song length.

SUMMARY:

All in all i'm glad a game like this has finally been made for VR...It has a hell of a lot to address in this to be honest, but the potential is there if it's worked on better.
Not entirely sure it's worth the full £15 i spent as it needs so much improvement but I would keep an eye on this game if you're interested by it's inital concept.

Amazing!!!

This game has totally lived up to expectation.
First and foremost, I used to be a graffiti writer and I can confirm this has an authenticity about it, for sure.
In my first test of the game i just worked out what i could do and how things worked, but then i took myself into multiplayer mode and ended up meeting some really cool dudes who i actually had conversations with and showed them what to do and how i worked. The experience was awesome!!

BUT

BIG BUT

When playing multiplayer, YOU MUST BE AWARE that the clear button clears the WHOLE WALL not just what you may have sprayed on teh wall...this left me in an akward position when i first joined someone's room, played around a bit and then decided to (assumingly) clear what i'd done and in turn, it cleared the whole wall...deleting what the guy who was already in the room had done.

All in all, welllllllllllllll worth the money and if you're into your art, the replayability is huge.

A few cheeky bugs here and there but it's solid already!
