The game is simple in the matter of graphics which i love. The Menus might be confusing at times but its also very simple. I've played this game on keyboard and i can't complain about the controls, it's hard at times especially when it comes to dogfights. Thats where the simplicity of this game ends. The building of the planes is very complex and very indepth which i find great. When playing this game You''ll learn alot about how planes work. It's not enough to make you an expert in aeronatics but enough to give you an interest in planes. There is plenty of parts to build planes out of (and not only planes because i've seen people doing really bonkers designs on games forums) but You'll mainly use a couple. At least i did. Do not think You'll hop in this game and remake todays fighter jets or collosal airbuses out of the box. It takes alot of time to design a good looking plane and it'll take even more to learn the tools to make them. In my 30 or so hours in the game i haven't made a good looking functional A-10 Warthog which was my intention for the last 15 hours with the game. For any new players i highly recommend the mod that allows you to move parts freely without interfering with physics. It's a huge help if You're trying to recreate real aircrafts. One thing that I mind is there is not much engines to choose from. Overall a great game.
