It’s gonna take a reasonable amount of therapy to recover from this experience. 10/10 would play it again.

It's a simpler and shorter version of Portal. The atmosphere was interesting and the story, while being an obvious Trolley Problem, presented a good introduction to philosophical questions regarding artificial intelligence, like the Chinese Room or the Turing Test itself. Puzzles were, most of the time, fun and satisfying to solve, and the clear usage of mathematical concepts like boolean operators was clever and impressive.

It's either very difficult or I'm just really bad at it. Probably both.

Simply put, this game does not work.

The forums are full of people having crashes to desktop as soon as they boot the game (which was my case). There is a pinned post from a developer addressing that issue from 2013, with a solution that no longer works. That is a well known issue, and it was never patched. The reason you won't find more negative reviews than this game currently has is that you have to play it for 5 minutes before reviewing it, and that is pretty much impossible when it doesn't even run.

Even if you're one of the lucky ones who manage to get past the CTDs, Operation Raccoon City uses Games For Windows Live, which hasn't been supported by Microsoft for a while now. So if your plan is to play it online with a friend, you might find some outdated tutorials on fixing GFWL, but the majority of the comments claim those have been no help for years now.

April, 2023 update: GFWL was removed from RE5. Maybe there's hope I'll purchase this again in the future.

This is the reason why I feel happy about purchasing the deluxe version. Short chapter, but highly enjoyable.

Developers force us to play this in order to get 100% of the achievements from their other game. Even looking up most of the solutions online, getting through almost a hundred similar puzzles was a cringy experience. As someone else said, "if you have naughty children or bad employees, use this as punishment".

This DLC is defined by its mediocrity. While the main game is built around a consistent narrative, 400 Days is all over the place. The attempt to construct plot fragments and unite them in an epilogue has resulted in a shallow story and incompatible with the expected emotional weight of its first season. The approximate two hours of gameplay offer only meaningless decisions, the possibility of one or two references to the main game and a inconsistent presentation of characters that will only make a brief appearance in the next game of the series, all this to end up owing us several explanations. Unfortunately, I don’t see it as anything but a waste of time and money.

I have never thought of recommending something like this.

The Plan is a really short story about a fly that has to, well, fly. I would say that this is a philosophical metaphor for life, where you struggle because of some adversities but you keep going until the end. You can imagine many things while playing the game, but this is all I can say without spoiling the whole thing.

Do not be fooled by it's price: even though it is free, it is high quality. The game's camera control and soundtrack are great and change according to your progression, so you will notice it getting more beautiful while you play.

It is an easy 100%, really short and free. You have no reason not to play it.

When I was younger I could remember anything, whether it had happened or not.
— Mark Twain
In short, this is where Stranger Things meets Life is Strange.

An eccentric mix of history, sci-fi and adventure. Oxenfree makes use of somber art and visual glitches to tell a never ending ghost story – which develops from our own choices –, and it truly excels at it. Its impeccable soundtrack successfully contributes to the feeling of tension and suspense, making the whole experience much more immersive.

The game distances itself from linearity and uses a concept of interactivity where it is practically possible to see yourself among the teens. This, when combined with the unpredictability of events, becomes truly hypnotic. Even replaying the game can be enjoyable due to how seamlessly the ending of a playthrough blends into the beginning of another.

Oxenfree is astonishingly good. It’s one of the best supernatural stories I have ever seen and, without a doubt, one of my favorite games. Totally recommended.
