Incredibly fun and addicting combo of 4x grand strategy and tactical turn based combat. If you enjoy Civilization and its gameplay, this game is a natural extension with deeper tactical combat elements, with units having a variety of abilities and spells in addition to spells you can cast per turn on both the grand map and in tactical combat. The faction creation is fun, not the deepest system but allows you to guide your faction early and set up the flavor/aesthetic. Good introductory missions, as a casual player of 4x games with no AoW experience I easily was able to get the hang of the games systems. Overall, this is a must-buy for any fans of fantasy and 4x strategy, and the tactical combat pushes this game up in enjoyability for me compared to many similar games. Also, bonus points for having the Auto Combat feature and autoresolve replays, all in game battles can be played out by the AI using your abilities, and autoresolve is actually resolved this way as well, incredibly satisfying to piece a build together and sit back and watch the AI's duke it out and unlike many games with autoresolve you can actually watch a replay and see what went wrong and where your weaknesses are.

I have really been enjoying this game over the free weekend, and have decided to purchase it. However, I will say, this is not a game for all types of people. You're slow, your guns inaccurate, you can only take 1-2 bullets, and theres no indication besides uniform difference as to who is the enemy. Theres no killcam, no scoreboard with K/D, no kill log. Theres no progression, levels, or perks. If you are a big fan of twitch shooters like CoD and Counter Strike, you may not enjoy this game, but, if you are a big fan of Arma, Project Reality, Red Orchestra 2, or Insurgency, you will probably love this game as I have. To me, Squad is like a more accessible version of Arma. Simpler server browser, less controls, a much more streamlined game. If you love Arma's gameplay but find its overall design to be a bit clunky and awkward, Squad is what you've been looking for.

Pros-
*Good weapon customization system
*Basic gameplay iss well done except for some issues with certain gun and how accuracy works
*Good variety of game modes
*Hardsuits are quite fun
Cons-
*Laggy servers
*The patcher encounters issues with patching the game way too often
*A good bit of items in the game, including weapons, cost premium currency to buy permanently
*Grinding for items is ridiculous, depending on how you do, youll usually get around 100-200 gp per match, and most items cost over 3000 to buy permanently
*Most maps look the same, theres nothing really special about any of them.
*Spawns for Free for All modes are very bad
FInal Verdict: 6.5/10 It tries its best to be a good f2p shooter, and it has its good parts, but it just isnt fun. Ive received almost no enjoyment from this game, only anger when I lose again and again to people 10-15 levels higher than me with better guns.

Though I have few hours on this game, I have to say, its great. Its basically an arcade run and gun free to play shooter, but with mechs. Even though it is a free to play, its not very pay to win, fortunately. Meteor Credits are used to buy everything in the game, along with the regular earnable HAWKEN Credits. The Meteor credits can also be used to buy certain exclusive things like XP boosts and other things like that, but thats the extent of it. The combat is fast paced, somewhat strategic, and most of all, fun. The mechs themselves come in a variety of families, like assassination, suppression, etc. There are relatively few mechs atm, but they are all different and fun to use. My current favorite is the Bruiser, which has a rapid fire vulcan and lock on missiles. Its used to harass the enemy team and engage them in close quarters combat, both of which roles it does quite nicely. Theres also a co-op mode. where you and other players face off against waves of bot controlled mechs and drones, and bosses every few waves. This game is definetly worth checking out.

War Thunder. A game that used to be legendary. A game that used to be close to the best. A game ruined by greed. War Thunder is a vehicle-based war game along the lines of games such as World of Tanks and Armored Warfare. It currently features airplanes and tanks available to play. The airplanes can fight in 3 modes of avrying realism and so can tanks, each one having different physics, reload setups, etc, and all are fun to play. The game features great combat, where your vehicles are actually physically damaged instead of using abstract health bars. Hits to your wing can start fires and affect your meaneuverability in air, crew can be knocked out or killed in tanks, ammo racks can be blown up, very in depth combat. But, this is where the praise in. Remember that I said 'used' a lot in the intro. This game is good, but, is only getting progressively worse as each update more and more paid, premium content is added, while the devs continue to ignore balance issues, matchmaking issues, physics issues, lack of features, I could go on. I can't recommend this game because even though at this point, it isn't a completely horrible game, it's only get worse and worse as the devs get greedier and greedier, sucking the last bits of cash they can out of a steadily dying game.
