If you like shooters you'll love Destiny. As a long-time Halo/Gears of War/Fallout/Mass Effect player I've done my fair share of sci-fi shooting and Destiny just hits that sweet spot with weapons that's missing from most other games. Sure. there's grind like in any other MMO (be prepared for that), but the guns feel so good that even the grind is great. If you love competitive PvP you might have more luck sticking to Halo though, since Destiny is a lot more PvE oriented (there are still PvP sweats and streamers, naturally, but it doesn't yet come close to being the esport that Halo is). Plus since it's an MMO it's easier than in other games to find clans/people to play with - I've made some buddies from all over the world and running raids with them is pure pleasure.

Oh, and Witch Queen (the new expansion released this week) is quite likely the best content drop the game has seen so far, so there's that.

Feels just like the board game version as far as enjoyability is concerned, but is also more dynamic and easier to get into, since a lot of the stuff that you have to figure out for yourself in the board game is shown explicitly, like the amount of Block dice.
The online league system is also neat - it might be nigh-on impossible for some people to host a league with 10+ people in the real world because of conflicting schedules, travelling etc., but the video game makes this very manageable.
The only aspect of this game I haven't enjoyed so far is that there are some typos here and there (like "Insufficiant gold"), but since that has little to no bearing on gameplay I wholeheartedly recommend the game to everyone
