Fantastic throwback to SM64. Plays almost identically, good controls make platforming actually fun. Level design is also well done.

Some performance issues; flickering mouse pointers, probably a memory leak that caused my PC to lock up. Reasonable issues for EA, but for the most part, the game is wonderful for being in EA- a good example for how an EA game should look at sale.

Recommending this even while still in EA for casual platforming and ez fun.

This isn't a game. Lemme get that out there right away. The gameplay is merely a means to hold you up so that the voiceovers can do their work. That said, it simulates mmo grinding extremely well.

This is the short story of one person's experience in an online relationship, molding together themes from both first loves to young loves. It doesn't matter that it happens to take place online; these feelings are generally universal amongst most human beings, perhaps being unknown to the absolute fringe most antisocial.

This work seems specifically to be an interesting act of coping with what was obviously a rough period in her life. Or, as many people have experienced, an amazing period that ended in such a way that it made all that time completely horrible.

Is this specific work relatable to everyone, though? No. Not everyone went through the same internet-specific relationships the author did. Many more have nowadays, and even more will in the near future, but someone looking for a video game won't find such a thing here. Those who did have such a relationship probably heard every line spoken or written in this game in their own life off-script, with just the names changed. Most of these lines are even universal to facetoface relationships.

Poor things: the cinematography is somewhat lackluster. It's not bad for an amateur work, but each scene didn't seem to speak video-wise the same way the emotions were coming out audio-wise. I don't really review movies, though, so I guess I can't give good criticisms here.

Blake's voice actor wasn't nearly as good as Nina's (Nina herself? I didn't check lmao) as delivering awkwardness. His lines felt just a bit forced when he is supposed to be a charismatic guild leader. Personal chats are always different, but the way he is presented and the way he acts seem to not synergize.

And, of course, the gameplay being nonexistent.

Overall, I related to this work, and therefore it was worth playing. Was it worth the gate cost? Probably not, but that doesn't bother me much.

Interesting little shmup. It doesn't seem terribly difficult, though one level in particular keeps reking me. Hard mode levels seem identical to normal levels only with only 2 lives, so I would hope the last 20 are mechanically more difficult.

The main problem I find is that controls are slightly too floaty for a shmup game. Imprecision leads to more deaths than the game actually being hard.

Sun Dogs is a text-based science fiction adventure game. That is the extent of how well I can describe it for an opening sentence of a review. You, as an explorer, visit different places within our inner solar system (the terrestrial four and some moons) to collect different items, skills, and body augments to open up new events and new options for events and encounters.

Gameplay is presented entirely as text in well-written and imaginative exposition, like in a roleplaying game. The UI exists to show your travel locations, where you can go and interesting orbit patterns of the planets, moons, and stations, plus all your 'stats' and items.

Events range from simple exposition of your environment to dangerous encounters. Having collected the right skills and items from other events lets you resolve encounters in a positive manner, rather than simply dying; however, sometimes skills and items you've acquired will cause a negative outcome to an event.

This is the extent of the 'game'; you travel around, exploring and finding new events and flavor text which are given mostly at random, then using those things you have obtained to find more events and flavor text which are also given mostly at random. It is, perhaps, the simplest and most base form of something I would just barely consider a roguelike, but even that title may be giving it too much credit on the gameplay front.

The writing is solid, and the setting itself is fairly unique and interesting to learn about. As far as science fiction goes, it's nothing groundbreaking; but there's enough that, for someone who enjoys text-based games primarily based around exposition and also enjoys a solid science fiction piece, it may be worth the cost.

The music is somber, if repetitive, since it never changes. It somewhat reminds me of STALKER's main menu theme and the general ambient mood of that game's music. After about five minutes you may feel the need to set up your own soundtrack. There was a hotfix. Will reassess. edit: Music seems fine now that there's some variety, no complaints.

Of note, and of interest to myself especially as a writer, are the expansive mod tools. Since the game itself is so simple, it can essentially be rewritten from the ground up, which is a great feature. Am I myself terribly interested in what is in the game now? No, not really- but I am extremely interested in trying my own hand at making something similar.

Overall, I recommend it for those interested in this sort of non-game which is primarily based around exposition and setting building. Though I feel I have seen everything gameplay wise the game has to offer even with less than an hour ingame per writing this review, I am still interested to see the extent of the skill system and what I can trigger by discovering different things to learn more about the setting, which is the core of the game. By no means should one expect this game to be something like Elite.

This is a bad f2p russian counter-strike knockoff, without anything that makes CS good.

All the guns feel samey and many of them are nigh useless (shotguns and snipers specifically), with one of the cheapest (the AK-47) being easily the best gun in the game, with the machine guns (PKM and M249) being nice runnerups, only not the best because you can only get them late in the match when you've had a good kill count.

The maps are poorly designed, with the best designed map being a straight rip of A side/mid from dust2. Some of them are literally aim maps (which exist in cs only to keep you from being distracted, not because the textureless aesthetic is good).

As far as I can tell, all the servers are in russia, so if you're in the states or probably even europe, prepare for lag. A lot of it. In particularly bad servers, you can even kill yourself by walking into your own knife stabs. Yep.

There is only one game mode: TDM, instant respawn, first team to 150 kills.

Other reviews talk about cheaters, but I haven't seen any myself after about 3 hours of games. I went to see if there were any hacks available, but they were all outdated and/or patched. There may be more on a russian site I simply can't access, since it's probably more popular there, but on english sites there seems to be no interest in cheating on this game. It's not like you need to cheat, anyway- everyone is trash, and if you use even a semi decent weapon, you can easily top the scoreboard. Seriously, no one is good at this game. If they're complaining about a hacker, it's probably just someone that's more than a silver 2 on cs.

Instead of an anti-cheat, there's a kick system which bans the person from the server for a few hours if it succeeds. That's terrible. I had several attempts to kick me today (which didn't succeed) for simply doing well or getting a good kill spree. Still, another hallmark of a terrible shooter.

The guns feel awful, everything is flaccid, bugs are rampant, TDM is boring, etc etc. There's a lot wrong with this game. it surprises me anyone even thinks there's something good about it. You can get CS for like, $6 on sale. Is that really too much?

Extremely fun party game. Can be played over voice chats, but if anyone else wants a turn at the hands-on portion, they have to buy the game themselves.

Gosh, I'm an idiot. A very self-absorbed idiot.

Five years later and it all means more than it ever could have before. I leave my old review here as a reminder that I was not anywhere close to sincere then, and now that I am, it makes me cry. I need to tell myself things will be okay. But they really won't; things will never be the same. But you will be so much better for it.

This piece of art is greater than me, and this is the sad proof. I had yet to experience any of this. Now that I have, or anywhere closeto it, I know where I made errors. But we can't linger.

Correct myself, and move on. I need to realize there was no way I could have known. To expect myself to know is to expect myself to be insincere.

In being this awful, I know I was sincere. Because the horror I went through was only just starting; and this was a sad reminder that my best choices were only choices.

What mattered was what I did with the world I found myself in.

A short tale which describes things that every human being struggles with. There are many fantastic insights within;

however, this is a largely self-absorbed work.

Perhaps it should have been free. Maybe it didn't have to be. Maybe Davey knew that he could make a quick buck off of what is a self-critical piece of art from the fans who enjoyed his past work so much.

Perhaps the message of this game is excacerbated by the fact that he felt it was prudent to charge to listen to a series of rhetorical questions.

Perhaps it's not. Maybe it's just simply selfish and egotistical. Maybe you expected automatic praise for being the creator of TSP- maybe you knew that TSP would already be your greatest work, and nothing you made past that would garner the same attention.

I cannot recommend this game under these circumstances, though it was a very difficult decision, and I hate Steam's yes or no policy. It would most certainly end up somewhere inbetween. It raises several good points, but becomes incerasingly contrived as it goes on. Perhaps it hit too heavily in certain points, and not heavily enough in others.

This game will mean a lot to serious creators. It will mean nothing to anyone else.

Polish political commentary in the form of a platformer. Do I understand any of it? No. Is it a good game? Not really. The controls are floaty and the areas are pretty poorly thought up and designed.

Should have been a free flash game. The target audience isn't the steam userbase anyway.

edit: if the dev makes it moddable so I can put Trump in instead of Korwin, I'll change this to a positive review
