I don’t know how a visual novel—a genre known for its replayability and branching stories—manages to fail this spectacularly. Compared to other games in this category, this one is a pain to replay, with no distinguishable events or meaningful differences between routes to motivate continued play.

There are no illustrations, animations, or character sprites outside the bare minimum, not even extra stuff you only get to see when you're actively dating a character. There’s no customization, no unlockables, no New Game Plus, and no way to skip or streamline the repetitive events. Week 5, 10, 14, and 15 are practically identical every time, with only minor line changes that are hardly worth the player’s time. It’s so tedious that I had to resort to an auto-clicker to get through the endless, pointless dialogue.

The mechanics are gimmicky and feel practically useless. For example, activities with your dog can earn points, but there’s no real strategy involved. To efficiently reach level 10, you just look up the starting dog that gives the best bonuses and follow a rigid activity list. It’s a mindless grind rather than an engaging system.

The dog-care minigame is equally repetitive and broken. I discovered that hosing down the dog in wide, careless circles—not even properly targeting it—registers better input than actually interacting as intended. This, followed by toweling the dog twice, consistently maxes out its stats. It’s laughably unpolished and clearly rushed.

For a game with such a heavy focus on dogs, they’re poorly rendered and lack detail. There’s almost nothing to do with them—no outfits, accessories, or fun interactions like you'd expect in a pet-themed game. If you’re hoping for something even remotely close to Nintendogs, forget it. This is a bare-bones, shallow attempt with minimal effort in its execution.

The art style is decent, and the UI is clean, but even those aspects are marred by technical issues. Background music occasionally cuts off for no reason, and character sprites sometimes fail to load entirely, leaving you staring at an empty background. These bugs make an already underwhelming experience feel even more incomplete.

As for the writing, it’s occasionally fun in a meme-like way, but there’s too little of it, and what’s there lacks depth. Once you’ve read the emails or gone through the unskippable tutorial/character editor, there’s no reason to revisit them. The character editor itself is laughable—just three avatars with no options to change hair colors or features.

Player agency is virtually nonexistent. The dialogue choices and the data you input—like blood type or zodiac sign—are completely meaningless. The quiz at the start, which determines which character suits you best, is fun the first time but becomes tedious on subsequent playthroughs since it’s unskippable.

Overall, the game is sorely lacking in content, customization, polish, and player accommodation. Even on sale, it’s not worth the price, and I absolutely can’t recommend it.

I can only repeat the sentiments of the many awarded and popular reviews here: this game is a fun experience with some notable shortcomings. I genuinely enjoyed the interactive stories woven into the gameplay. They add depth and intrigue, and I found myself wishing for more graphical and visual elements to accompany them. Even small, stylized illustrations—like those in the story on the boat—would have greatly enhanced immersion.

However, much of the side content, if it can even be called that, feels irrelevant. It exists primarily to be spammed for achievements, and even then, the process is hindered by arbitrary limits like the "study" option being locked to three sessions per cycle. The choices lack meaningful impact, the cards are inconsequential, and the designs offer little substance.

I had hoped the interactive tarot card elements might lead to some hidden mechanics or unlockables. Perhaps forming patterns like a pentagram could reveal something unique? Unfortunately, it’s all just flashy visuals with no gameplay depth.

Like others, I replayed the game to achieve 100% completion, but the lack of quality-of-life features made it a chore. There’s no fast-forward option, no way to skip previously seen dialogue, no greyed-out dialogue choices, and no new content or dialogue options despite the game acknowledging that you’ve essentially “reset the universe.” It feels like a missed opportunity to reward players for their persistence.

While the experience is enjoyable, it’s hard to justify the ~20 bucks price tag. I purchased it on sale for 8€, and even that felt steep given the limited art, sparse animations, lackluster side content, and minimal player agency. The pseudo-dating/teasing options are hollow, and aside from the tarot cards—which themselves don’t matter—there’s little in the way of customization. You can finish the game using just the three mandatory cards without ever bothering to unlock others like the cosmic wheel card.

The dialogue is another weak point. Despite the game’s themes of politics and feminism—topics I typically appreciate in video games—many scenes felt unnecessary and unskippable. Worse, all the characters speak in a near-identical manner, despite their supposedly distinct personalities and wildly different backgrounds. The story emphasizes that the protagonist's friends come from entirely different worlds and time periods, some hundreds of years apart before ascending to witchhood. Yet, this detail is barely reflected in their dialogue or characterization. It comes across as shallow and lazy.

Overall, while the game delivers a fun, short-lived experience, it feels more like a demo or a brief narrative experiment than a fully fleshed-out title. With its limited content and lack of meaningful depth, it falls short of its potential.

My PC is from 2019 (and not a hardcore gamer rig by all standards) and has no problems loading shaders in a reasonable amount of time. The character creator and the choice of your past is really thorough!

The gameplay is adjustable enough through the skill tree to be more interesting & challenging with the many different difficulties, but also really chill and straightforward if you want it to be to just enjoy the story.

I think the only points that are minor annoyances to me personally are the lack of powerful/emotional voice acting at some more objectively dramatic points of the story, the pacing of dialogue (sometimes it's too fast or the pauses inbetween too long) and the standard keyboard shortcuts are really random imo, had to wait for the tutorial prompts to find some things. Maybe the controller layout is better, but I don't have one at hand anyways and you could easily adjust a couple keys too, lol.
