“Sus” jokes are taking over social media — from TikTok to Twitter — spreading an anti-homosexual message that discourages straight men from acting in a feminine or stereotypically homosexual manner. When observing these jokes, as a gay man myself, I wondered, “what is wrong or funny about being gay?” This is the exact problem with this new joke trend — it instills into viewers the idea that there is something wrong with being gay or something wrong with men acting effeminately.
