I really loved this game when it came out, the sense of exploration not just from the islands for items but trying to figure out how to create things without the use of a general style crafting window was great. We even had a nod to castaway by finding a volley ball with the hand print similar to Wilson.

Then the updates turned into revamps, revamping the crafting system, revamping the maps, revamping the building system and not exactly what I'd call updates, rather that the initial ideas for different systems weren't 100% what the developer team wanted, honestly I say figure out what you want to do and stick with it, when it comes to game development I'd say the best bet is to finish your roadmap or at least a majority of the roadmap before you decide to redo everything. This game came out when the one of the only options for VR was the very first Oculus Rift (SDK 1), I remembered because having purchased that expensive piece of tech I was excited to give it a go, fast-forward to the future we probably won't be getting it anytime soon.

I was expecting this game to be closer to finishing their roadmap, even with a small team but it seems their uncertainty has lead to lots and lots of revamps like for example the update for the 21st of Feb "New Main Menu" which doesn't add any value to the game whatsoever, the roadmap looks more like a wishlist at this point, would love to see different types of animals on different types of biome islands, I would love to just set sail in a raft and try and find something new to explore, but I bet you I can jump into the game and do the same weird bug of walking on logs in the sky to get to the next island.

This game is so fun to play, ignoring all the bugs and weird glitches of course.

I've managed to slither my way up the political food chain, to the point where I'm about to be the mayor. Getting to Marshal and Chief Magistrate was really tough, I tend to not bribe anyone at all, and somehow made it to this point, and despite me being really chummy with the Sovereign I was still not voted for the role, so in the end I put both of candidates to sleep, I did this in town in front of a town of people yet somehow was never seen lol. Gotta love winning by default.

I've gone to court with a ton of people and made them face the harshest penalties, all on things like made up charges.

I destroyed the only other hospital in town, by burning it enough to the point where I could capture it, then when I finally captured it, just razed the building. No better way to take out the competition then to actually take them out. Somehow though I got away with this, and in the end only one of my people are hated, while the rest have crystal clear conscience.

I challenged someone to a duel once and the funniest thing that happened was my character was SO bad at aiming that she shot the doctor twice and killed him LOL he ended up respawning mid-duel.

The game is pretty cheap and for the hours of fun I've had I'd say it is definitely worth the price, just play where each turn is 1 year, the game is a lot slower but it definitely is a lot better for planning out our next attack/way to move up the political ladder.

This is the type of game you'd want to play if you enjoy the sims, at least the aspect of controlling people and such, but tied in with a business management game, and a bit of a sandbox type of game when it comes to what you want to do (You don't have to be the mayor but it's a good goal to try for) I'd suggest getting Fajeth's Mega mod pack if you do end up buying this game, tons of bug fixes and some nice items added to the game.

I think aside from trying to control the whole city I'm probably going to try and destroy the other cities, just because I've somehow become the target of a ton of people hating me to the point where they sabotage some of my buildings (though I did ransack a couple mines and rob a couple dozen carts)

I think I've played enough in the last couple days to understand this game and enough so to make a review.

From my own experience the game is great, but in saying that it is one of those extremely realistic simulation games, don't think for a second that flying a futuristic space ship is easy, it takes a bit of getting used to. The first tutorial that gives you a basic mission of flying from one place to another is good enough to teach you how to fly, it isn't long or anything so it should be easy to finish.

My other suggestion is that it'd be a good idea to use a controller, I haven't touched the keyboard controls so I'm not even sure how I'd fly without my controller, but it has really good controller support, enough so where you won't need the keyboard for anything other then chat, or searching for a specific system.

I'm at the point in the game where I have a new ship and buying upgrades for it, for better cargo and stuff, my profits come from devlieries and salvaging. I tried mining, for me it ain't fun, sure it's realistic enough to know that there are only so many space rocks that give x material but meh, I like flying more, so I guess i'll eventually get into combat.

I've done a tiny bit of combat, and from what I can see I'll need to spend a lot of time practising before I can take on much better AI, I haven't seen any actual people online and from what I remember this game is more instance based than MMO style like Eve so seeing people might be a rare sight. Eitherway the combat seems to be pretty cool, there are in game tutorials to teach you things and videos if you just want to skip bits.

One thing I'm not happy about is one of the missions involving taking out skimmer turrets, it's one of the planet based missions so I essentially thought i'd pop in on the land vehicle and just take out some turrets, nope I get blasted to pieces, I read online that you need to take out the patrolling ship, except in my case it's a master level AI ship that destroys me a couple of seconds, as I have 40 hours into the game I'm confused as to how I've gotten such a difficult mission, when my rank for combat is so low.

So all in all, the game is great if you really want to learn how to fly futuristic ships, you might be stuck doing deliveries and stuff at the start or you can just try your hand at combat, either way it has well designed controls (through controller support, haven't used the keyboard), the tutorials are good enough to get the basics down, for me I learn the basics and pick things up a long the way. My only gripes are the weird mission I got that gave me extremely hard AI to fight and the sometimes long load time when clicking run game in Steam. Get this game if you enjoy flying though, since that's really what you'll be doing the most.

Also for the people that complain about silly little things that they have taken out of direct context, please don't make crap up, if you want to leave a review be as objective as possible.

Totally forgot to add: If you enjoy the game but really suck at parking your ship, there is a ship module you can get that auto-docks, which is pretty cool, even plays classical music while doing the maneuvers.

This game is fun for about one night, that is to say until you level up enough in one class, it gets sorta repetitive.

For one thing though the whole Pay 2 Win thing people are talking about doesn't really exist, I can make a decent ship with all the available parts supplied through level, what I get through using money is just Skins, but since I cannot be bothered, all the fun is gone.

I really love this game, that is to say until the newest Sword added to the game.

The Terra-blade was the one of the strongest weapon in the game, and it was awesome because it was unique to being a Terraria-themed weapon.

However when they added the Meowmere, based on a meme, I just felt really sad thinking the strongest sword in the game is now, literally based off a meme, and not at all unique.

Aside from this one issue, I found the game extremely fun to play, the progression in difficulty is really planned out. (Though haven't played since the newest update that included Meowmere).
