Don't let all the negatives keep you away from this game. First of all it's a free download, automaticly makes an accoutn using your Steam login and you can always remove it for free from your harddisk.

When you start the game, you first get a well explained tutorial, explaining all the basics. After that you run into your first mission.
Ones you completed that mission you end up in your hangar, where you get certain small missions from NPC that helps you learning the UI and all ships and upgrades etc. So yo ulearn while playing.

In this game you have 3 options:
PVE missions - complete certain onjectives and beat the end boss
PVP missions - liek team deathmatch, domination etc.
Open world - where you can fully explore and do open world missions and such and meet lots of other players.

So far everything but a few ships can be unlocked 100% free and everything feels very balanced for me. Can beat any ship with any ship. There is a little bit of Pay to Win, but not very much in my opinion.

My advice, download/play/don't spend cash unless you really love supporting the devs.

Personally I love this game more than Dark Souls 2, mostly because of the Soul Level instead of Soul Memory. Only downfall is the graphics, you need mods to upgrade them and not sure that ones Steam Works launches it might get you banned using graphical add ons. Let's just hope not!

I know it is open beta, so the game isn't finished yet.

Bugs so far:
- Main screen is stuch on low res, messing up your screen settings. However ingame its all good to 1920 x 1080 which I use.
- Connection issues

Complaints that can't be fixed:
- it being half-life 1 engine, which these days is just not done. Unlike Quake Live which is a more smoot hand fluid engine, the half-life 1 engine isn't smooth enough these days for fast paced action. It's slow and clumsy and no scriptwriting can fix that.

As for the game being free to play: if you haven't played any Counter Strike game before and really want to have the good old experience, this might be just for you!

Good game if you like a casual RPG experience without the need to concentrate too much on combat mechanics or spend too much time on leveling mechanics. Just pure and brainless beat m up goodness! Recommended for all casual players!

I remember this game popping up as early access. The whole concept after playing DayZ and WarZ seemed fun to me. The trailer looked even more epic.

However, the graphics are nothing like the screenshots. The mechanics are nothing like WarZ was.
For example: You can walk through walls, bookshelves and other furniture.
Walking or running shakes the camera like crazy, so basicly you get motion sick from playing this game.
And don't even dare to swim... you die instantly in the water!

As for monsters... been walking around for like 10 minutes, haven't seen any, however I did die to starvation since I didnt find any loot/food either.

Warz at least had loot spread around the whole map (mostly in towns), and even tho it was a gankfest, it had it fun moments.

To me WarZ was way better than this and that aint a compliment for either of the 2 games, since both kinda suck in the long run!
