Devs stood up for players to stand against a change that would've made the game unplayable in 177 countries. Good guy Devs. Listening to players from the start and being super communicative through social media and discord.

Sony needs to reevaluate their PSN requirements, but that is no longer a Helldivers' problem.

Dune + BPM with a little Darksiders mixed in there. Songs are fantastic, gunplay is great, story's pretty good as well. No game of the year story, but solid in it's own right. Different track for every level, which provides some slightly varied way each gun plays in each level.

The only "cons" I would say is the boss design feels pretty stagnant, the boss music is set, and the game is pretty short (took me about 3 hours) if you don't feel the need to replay or do optional content. The boss arenas are gorgeous for the most part and very different from each other, it's just the design and soundtrack that can feel stagnant.

HOWEVER: the last boss fight blows everything out of the water, and saves one of the best songs for it as well. Final boss is such a spectacle, and the fight design is top notch as well.

Overall, if you're someone who loves this kind of game, this is definitely the highest quality rhythm shooter out there, and earns the $30 price tag. Also gets a bonus in my eyes since there's no greedy transactions. They let the game speak for itself and don't try to lure you in with preorder bonuses or mtx. Just the one price tag and you get everything the team worked on.

Lastly, from how many people are looking forward to this, I'm also looking forward to see this game inspire a flood of rhythm shooters into the market. I can't wait to see how Outsiders uses the massive revenue that is sure to come from this game on their next installment.

I've only played this game for about 6 hours. It's awesome, honestly. Funnest assassin's creed I've played.

Some people seem to think that I'm rating the game down because my computer's performance. If you read the whole review, that is not the problem. But for clarity, I am editing the review here to say that my specs are in the comments. My PC's performance is definitely not the issue here. I was running the game on Ultra settings with my FPS never dipping below 75, even in the most hectic situations.

The game has optimization issues, clearly. It doesn't run poorly on my system on Ultra settings, but it definitely doesn't run the way I'd expect it to. The gameplay is more than enough to make up for this. And I expect there will be a patch within the next month or two to rectify this.

Finally: the reason I don't recommend this. I can't start the game. I could start it a couple days ago, and that's when I played it for 6 hours in one day. Tried to start it the next day, and it didn't work. I've been chatting with the ubisoft support team since then with no resolution. This is the biggest issue on the Assassin's Creed: Origins support site that I can see with over 450 people engaging in the chat, saying that they have the same problem with no resolution, other than a few outliers who found success in changing the install location to their C Drive, running it in administrator mode, etc. But for the vast majority, this is a problem that has not been solved.

I can't give this game a thumbs up if I can't play it.

Edit: From what I've been able to troubleshoot with the support team and on my own, the failure to launch is most likely caused by A: Having more than one HD/SSD installed in the PC, B: A conflict between Steam and Uplay, or C: (Most Likely) Some weird combination of both. The only troubleshooting option the support team has left is to do a complete windows reset. I'll update when that happens.

Edit: Windows Reset didn't help either. Hopefully Ubisoft finds the issue and releases a patch to fix the issue soon, because at this point, it doesn't look like this is anything I can solve on my side. I'll update if the support team is able to help get the game running.

EDIT: FIXED! The most recent Uplay update fixed it for me! My guess is the Uplay launcher was having difficulty finding the game files for some reason or another, and that fixed it. Like I said at the first part of the review, I think this is a great game, and now I'm finally able to play it.
