Metal Gear Solid 3 is one of my favorite games of all time.

I had played the Subsistence release prior to owning the Master Collection version, and without a shadow of a doubt, this is easily one of the most in-depth, fun, and exciting games I've ever played. From the characters to the story, the gameplay to the soundtrack, all of it was crafted and tuned to literal PERFECTION with MGS3.

Yeah, I'm gonna say it, MGS3 is a perfect video game. It checks every box and provides a fun and challenging experience, while also being accessible for new players, and encourages experimentation through its' weapons and level design, and through its' difficulty options, with better ranks depending on various in-game factors, including your difficulty.

Doing a FOXHOUND run, especially, made me really appreciate the inner-workings and complexities of this game, and just made me love it a whole lot more (even if it took me multiple failed attempts just to get to it).

MGS3 is a MUST-PLAY for anyone looking to get into the Metal Gear series, and it's perfect for that too considering its' placement in the timeline being the earliest it could possibly be at this point in time, an era that predates Solid Snake, genes, memes, Patriots, AI, and all that other ♥♥♥♥. Of course, this is only if you're willing to play the series in lore-order rather than release order.

Been playing this game since the public non-Patreon builds were out, and I gotta say, this is one of my favorite MMO games I've ever played, and I'm not even that big on MMO games!

The game combines the fast and quick paced feeling of retro shooters and the stat-based gameplay of RPGs and MMOs and puts the best of both worlds together, and it's one of the best games I've played this year, especially considering this year was kinda eh for me on new releases, save for Echoes of Wisdom or something.

My only two gripes are the vanity system and the fact that you can't "pause" in singleplayer; multiplayer, I get it, but I should be able to pause in a singleplayer game and not have to worry about being cheapshotted by an enemy that I wasn't aware of. The vanity system is a great idea, I love being able to make my armor look a certain way if the one with great stats doesn't look that good; my problem only really stems from the fact that it takes up a consumable rather than just being a thing you can do by default. This is made worse when you remove that armor piece, and the vanity just disappears and you need to use up another consumable.

These are my only gripes with it though, the game is super fun, and worth the price if you're looking to get it; once you understand how the game's flow of combat works, it'll pretty much become second nature to you, and is super satisfying to pull off and get right. It's a must-play for anyone!

I got this as a gift from a friend back in like, 2021, and unfortunately I hadn't touched the game until September of 2022. And boy, was I missing out. This game is probably the best ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game I've ever played.

The combat is fluid, it's like a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ dance. It's elegant, it's gorgeous, it's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥' BRUTAL. And I love it.

Huge props to Hakita and the rest of the dev team for making this game. I honestly prefer it over every other game I have in my library simply due to how fast-paced and skill based it is.

Not to mention the lore being extremely in-depth, really bringing the whole game together. I came for the kills and the gameplay, but stayed for the rich and deep lore that the game provides.

This game is well worth the money. I guarantee it.

With the recent news of the EAC planning to ban quality of life mods for people who really need it, it's safe to say this game has become among one of the worst I've played. They claim that they care a lot about "their community" but group in mods that, say, help those who are hearing impaired or have trouble with seizures, in the same league as mods that crash people and steal personal information or private things such as paid avatars or models.

I'm proud to say I'm probably never going to touch this game again unless they reverse this horrid change. Many, many people can agree with me on this. The VRChat devs do not care about any of us. All they want is a lousy paycheck. The Quest port is buggy and lazy, and it doesn't get any better on PCVR either.

♥♥♥♥ this game, genuinely.

Almost 18 years later, and this game still holds the test of time. The Source engine truly is a colossal achievement in video game design and technology, and it's great to see how this game and its two episodes still holds up after all these years. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for an amazing FPS game.
