I enjoyed the argument/negotation system and managing reputation. The writing in Smith's campaign cracked me up. It might not have the replayability of some of the others in the genre, but I got more than my money's worth out of it

This game bops and is well worth the $2.99 price tag. It's unfortunate that the redesign didn't happen, but I enjoy the game in it's current and final form.

Early Access Review
Vampire Survivors is already well polished, has tons of content, and plays well. The gameplay loop is addicting and it's fun to pick up for an hour or two here and there. The developer continues to add new content and improve the game. This game is a steal for $3.00

Disco Elysium is "fun" in the sense that reading a good book is fun. It's not a high octane blood pumping thrill ride, but it captivates the mind and keeps you coming back for more. The writing and atmosphere are very well done. Like a book, the replayability is limited once you've reached the end. You might pick up on pieces you missed before, but you probably won't be in for big surprises. The update coming in March 2021 will add new content which should make the game even better and warrant a second play through.

The dice roll mechanic can be frustrating. I started save scumming the checks after failing my second 97% chance roll - much like reading a Choose Your Own Adventure novel and keeping your finger on the previous page. The game would have more replayability for a second run if you don't cheese your way past the checks. I preferred the cheese. I got about 32 hours of play time out of my first run.

I gave the game a pretty fair shake. The UI is just outright terrible and is not friendly for anyone, novice or expert. Taking multiple damages or dying because you can't work out how a particular enemy works (ghosts for example) leaves a bad taste and it discourages replayability. Many of the game elements are not introduced or explained at all. Perhaps it's my play style, but most battles are either easy to beat on a single turn or are painful.

Also the volume is absurdly loud and there are no menu controls for it.

Edit again: There's no save and continue feature. Huge negative.
Another edit: "Beat the game twice with all characters to unlock this" but there isn't a counter for how many times you've beaten the game with each character.
Edit again: My game has crashed four times now, making it more frustrating that there's no save and continue feature.
ANOTHER GD EDIT: The game randomly freezes. Usually it only happens on the first or second room. But it can happen on the basement! Can't submit a crash report because the game stalling out isn't a crash. Such a terrible waste of time. Program the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game correctly.

Well, that wasn't very fun.

Edit: Launched the game in November 2020 and it melted my old GPU. 2/10

Runs well on new GPU, 6/10

The soundtrack is an absolute banger, and putting a puzzle together with a friend is so satisfying. 10/10

Decent concept, controls were smooth (except you couldn't flap when holding both left and up arrow keys together??), but with no map or easy way back to the main objective stage it was super ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ annoying. Every stupid animal and even the trees are you kidding me? will steal your damn star piece or w/e the hell it is and then you spend 10 minutes not playing the game but rather flying in circles trying to reason with yourself why you shouldn't uninstall now.
