"In general I'm against Redux of a game. Metro 2033 Redux is an exception." 9/10

Metro 2033 Redux is the way Redux / Remastered / Definite Edition should be done. New engine, improved character models, opened up previously sealed off areas, new mini-games and trophies, new game mode and most importantly, bug fixes.

If you haven't played any Metro game before, Metro 2033 Redux is what you should be getting. If you already played the vanilla Metro 2033, this Redux version is worth another $5.

Do you have this experience when you are writing a final college exam and the professor throws a question that requires you to know a certain trick to solve it? Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance reminds me of this particular experience. It's not a bad game by all means: the graphics are great, the music add to the atmosphere and the theme of child soldier is interesting. However, some missions (e.g. VR Mission 08) could be very tedious if you try to brute force it. Instead, the better approach would be to sit back and figure out the trick behind these missions.

If you don't enjoy this kind of experience, this game is not for you. But if you like solving mind benders, this is a game which will provide many hours of gameplay.

Controller is highly recommended as it would make parry (which is essential in this game) much easier. The DLCs are worth mentioning as they add value to the main plot and are self contained games of their own.

I always love puzzle game. J.U.L.I.A. offers different kinds of puzzle: from reassembling scrambled images, investigating crime scenes, to decipering text and crafting machineries from blueprints. The difficulties are moderate--something a focused person can solve in a day or two. It would be helpful for the developers to provide tutorials to some of these puzzles as the instruction provided aren't too straight forward.

I'm surprised to see pre-rendered CG (in HD) from an Indie game. The graphics obviously couldn't be compared to AAA titles but they are all nicely done and the details are at least on par with graphics from PS2 era. Mobot's design is pretty unique and perhaps one day NECA and Kotobukiya could make a product out of it.

The story provides a bit of food for thought, which is definitely one of the high points of this game.

To sum it up, Dying Light is what Dead Island should be. The Dev got the right idea for the core game play: Parkour and salvaging. It's almost perfect but still have a few areas that need polishing. e.g. In Co-op, zoning should be done with a timeout (like Borderlands 2) instead of waiting for all players to synchronize. The weapon depreciation concept is a bit dated (Diablo 1?). The Dev should think about a better idea to have players to continue salvage and craft new equipment, and at the same time do not force them to abandon their previously crafted weapons using depreciation.

The PvP zombie invasion is a nice touch borrowing from Dark Souls. The story is alright though the QTE finale is probably not to everyone's taste.

At last, this game has beautiful architecture! To get the best out of it, run it in 4K with pre-patch drawing distance (8.26).

Post v1.1.1 update. Techland has finally added a Chromatic aberration toggle. Review score has been upgraded to 10/10 as a result. Good work Techland!

A story about how the boy Naiee grows up under the brotherhood of Naia. The game is unique in that the language spoken is frictional and the players are free to speculate what the characters in the game talk about. The game's control is divided between the two brothers (LS + LT for Naia, RS + RT for Naiee). Playing the game encourages you to coordinate between your left and right hands.

The scenic and music are both beautiful. For people with beefy hardware, I encourage you render the game in 4k and see the beauty yourself.

The journey ahead of the two brothers is by no mean smooth or without loss. Often it's when people lose things that they start to realize how precious these things are. [10/10]

Pretty game but could use some works on usability.

First of all the canvar art style is unique and should be praised about. Not deny that.

Game mechanic, however, needs a bit of polishing. For example, the lack of indication on whether your heroes are getting defense bonus from landscape could make your heroes die in a turn and leading to mission failure. While this may not be a deal breaker to veteran players, it does discourage new players to experiment with the game more as it leads gameplay more to luck.

The FPS style of unit action is a double edged sword. It's more intuitive but at the same time it's harder to backtrack when you make mistakes. And often these mistakes are made due to FPS elements such as camera angle and targetting.

Overall, this is an interesting take on a strategy game. But the game feels very unpolished. [6.5/10]

A Love Letter to Alien fans! 10/10

This is the best Alien game to date! Not only that the art style is retro like the original Alien movie, but the ambient sound and effects are all replicates of the film.

I hope the season pass would include the Last Survivor and Crew Expendable DLC. The latter is based on unused plot of the Alien film and is interesting to people who are curious how the film could have been like.
