I played this game for 70h and I wanted to wait until today's update, hoping Frontier would turn things around, before writing my review. To keep things civil: It is quite astonishing to watch a company undo some of its best QOL-Updates for its previous titles, PlanetCoaster and PlanetZoo, only for the player to end up with a half-baked game.

The clunkiness of the menus, the illogical ways to place and colour items, the absence of established work flows that have been working for 20+ years in similar games... Amazing how Frontier somehow managed to forget everything it ever created by launching a game that feels so non-intuitive, so difficult to navigate, and so disappointing.

I wanted to love this game, I held back my review for well over a month, and I was hoping that today's update would set things right. But no, it is still a mess that has never been properly play-tested before release.

[Update 20 Jan] I am pleased to see Frontier reach out, that's the type of community engagement we all love to see :-) Here's to a great 2025 for PlanetCoaster 2!

I loved Shadow Tactics, I liked Desperados.. and I really wanted to fall in love with Mimimi's swan song game. But I can't. I spent nearly 60h on this game, and now I cannot be bothered to finish it. The amount of dialogues one has to sit (or click) through + the forced side quests are tedious, and revisiting the same maps over and over again feels like getting less value for your money compared to Shadow Tactics and Desperados III.

The game itself is beautiful, but I really could have done without the forced storytelling and more levels would have been amazing. Therefore, it is with a bit of sadness that I cannot recommend this game.

10/10 — A must-play for fans of Desperados, Shadow Tactics, and Commandos.

Everything Mimimi Games touches turns into pure gold: The gorgeous scenery, the complex puzzles, the many ways to take out your enemies one by one, the beautiful soundtrack, the superb voice acting.. Simply wonderful.

Aiko's Choice is a much-appreciated extension (prequel!) of the original Shadow Tactics game. It cleverly tells the story of Aiko, the clan's mysterious and skilful assassin. I just wish there were more missions to play but 5.5. Tthe "Epilogue" can't be counted as a full mission, but for that you get a beautiful conclusion of Aiko's story!

I hope Mimimi is working on a game, perhaps one set in medieval Europe? Whatever they do, I'll wishlist it the moment they make the announcement!

Game looks beautiful and really got me excited. But.. This is sadly a seriously FLAWED game, with many bugs. What's the most annoying is that your characters can't shoot for ♥♥♥♥. And because you can't actually aim at enemies - you merely point and click with your character - there is nothing you can do about it.

Really a pity, I had high hopes for this game.

Beautiful game, and imho far more rewarding than Desperados III. There is just something about the characters that make you fall in love with them. Great voice acting there.

I spent countless hours playing this gorgeous game, and I can recommend playing it in Hardcore mode -- it's just really, really fulfilling. Thank you, mimimi games, for a wonderful adventure!!

I have logged more than 2500 hours on this wonderful game. Thank you @Frontier for making something so beautiful so funny, so creative. I just adore PlanCo.

I am not an astronomer, nor an enthusiast. But Space Engine is my little escape from these dreadful times we live in. What a beautiful simulator. Still in alpha, the controls can be a bit jerky - but I know the developer will smooth things out in due time.

This is truly, truly beautiful. I found myself saying "woooow" more than once. Breathtaking visuals, lovely soundtrack. Can't wait to see how this game / simulator will develop. I am certainly glad I got in early.
