Stand against the unfathomable, thwarted each run by the machinations of beings beyond your comprehension. Investigate what lurks beneath the facade of this city to find answers you were better off not knowing. Every attempt the mechanics of World of Horror are made more clear and the insurmountable goal of ascending the Lighthouse seems less so.

But you will fail, and such great a trial passes in so little time. Back into the whorl you descend. "This time," you say, "this time I'll buy a steak knife first."

i left it alone for 5 years then reinstalled and have been playing 15 hours straight so i guess it's kinda good

They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, which is about all this game amounts to: attempting to evoke response by aping the set pieces and story beats of the previous two entries. Not the best SP entry in the series, and certainly not as memorable, but given that two of the IW heads were fired during development that's not too much of a surprise. Still a solid finale for the series, in the same way that saying "Return of the Jedi" is the least favorite of the original trilogy kind of way.

Bought for the campaign, stayed for the hella fun multiplayer. The devs are made of ex-Infinity Ward, so pick up if you like CoD. Pick up if you like robots. Pick up if you like parkour.

Approach it as an adventure game with horror elements and you'll find a decent few hours of your time spent that way.
