Great Gameplay, awesome co-op, and real LAN play! Diablo 3 has nothing on this game.

Simply put it's the RPG most Diablo 3 players were hoping for. The graphics are a bit dated but the gameplay is simply brilliant. Co-op options and a well fleshed out inventory system and skill tree make this an excellent RPG for those just looking to get into the genre.

While somewhat obscure this RPG is everything Diablo 3 should have been. Good looking, engrossing gameplay, easy UI navigation and with no more profit motive beyond the initial purchase price. The addition of cooperative play brought back fond memories of playing hours of Dungeon Siege 2. Runic has achieved on a much smaller scale what larger developers with more resources still can't seem to, namely, making a game you actually want to keep playing.

As good as the first but a bit too far between spawn points and a bit harder than it needs to be. Always seems you don't have a strong enough gun to do the job.

Borderlands 2 allows you to engage your "Mad Max" fantasies while you strive for ever bigger guns. That's fun for awhile but there's an overarching storyline with interesting characters that keeps the player engaged. Even if you're doing badly you're still progressing. Knowing that no action is ever in vain makes the sometimes insurmountable odds more palatable. Players know that they will eventually win, you just have to find the right combination. You may even forget that it's just another gaming grind.

This game is still at the top of my leader board for the most hours played. It became an addiction that I could only kick when I finally got tired of the same scenery. That took over 350 hours BTW.

There's still nothing like this game out there and that includes that thinly veiled tech demo/cash grab otherwise known as the Prequel. I don't like origin stories, instead let's get to what the ending of this game really hints at....

MMO!

It's fun, beautifully rendered and will run on just about any PC made in the last decade with a decent vdieo card. It's always going on sale so why not try it out. Better yet get a GOTY edition and get all the DLC. Plus the game was regularly updated and now is much more stable.

Get it and see what an action shooter is supposed to be!

Single player hilarious, ending a bit weaker tho. Co-op is awesome in this game and the community contributed maps make this a cult classic

It's a puzzle game, a co-op game, an RPG without the clutter and simply the perfect sequel to the groundbreaking original. It's everything Portal was and more. GlaDos is back but this time is she friend or foe? It's a new expansive world that gives the player a fascinating backstory into the inner workings of Aperture Science and the Portal story. It's far removed from it's humber Half Life spinoff roots and in many ways superior to them.

Probably the best new feature, however, is the co-op gameplay where you and a friend can explore the test chambers under the watchful and wise cracking supervision of GladDos.

Better than the original and worth a buy.

In my top 3 games of all time. Great fun, good looking and fun to play. Co-op is at the center of this game and I've spent hours playing it just that way. The sequel looks good too but not for $60

It's an FPS deeply rooted, like most COD games, in its storyline. The problem is the story is one we've heard before namely Modern Warfare 2. It's basically DLC for MW2 so much so that while the story is different the objectives are almost exactly the same. But that's ok because MW2 was a good game and more of it isn't necessarilty a bad thing.

The visuals of MW3 which while well implemented do fall flat from the perspective of a FPS gamer. For example, in one of the later missions in MW3 you are attempting to surreptitiously cross a courtyard guarded by snipers, assorted militia and attack dogs. While I was waiting for the "Go" signal I looked around the environment and decided to zoom in on one of the brick walls. What I saw was a texture that reminded me of "Doom"

In the world of custom cars a paint job that only looks acceptable from a distance is commonly called "a ten footer" Visuals in MW3 are meant to be experienced this way. Much like the false front buildings on a Hollywood movie set have little detail on close inspection and so it is in MW3.

But who cares? The story and not the visual detail is what immerses the player in a COD game.

Visual detail in a FPS is critical to success as distinguishing an enemy from a rock often determines the outcome of a skirmish

Modern Warfare 3's single and co-op are tied more closely to a story akin to a Tom Clancy novel. In fact Modern Warfare 3's single player mission begins where Modern Warfare 2's ended. That's a good thing but a loose Multiplayer "run and gun" approach coupled with vague visuals and a bad player matching systems make multiplayer much less enjoyable for all but the most hyperactive gamer.

Played this for years and still do with firiends. Better looking than UT2004 and the DLC makes it even better.

Space battles look as good as ST:Legacy and great fun for ST fans of all generations.

Star Trek online is an MMO just like World of Warcraft. You adopt the persona of a character in this world and through it construct a history of your own making and completely under your control. That's the attraction of an MMO. If the developer provides enough of an immersive environment, a player can easily get lost in a world with far fewer limits than the mundane grayness of our reality.

I'm not much for the whole fantasy, dragon slaying, renaissance fair genre. I've always been a fan of Star Trek and thus I am both enthused and critical of any gaming title that claims lineage to the franchise.

---2019 Update--- - I stopped playing this game awhile ago mostly because the game became much too grindy and repetitive. I did put some money into this game because I got a lot out of it but it seems that things have changed. They always do when loot boxes get involved whether it's F2p or Triple-A.

One of the primary reasons I stopped playing was the combat models and controls were absolutely terrible. I don't mind immersion and a little more challenge is OK to help that out but I got really tired of losing the same phaser fight over and over again because the combat system glitched out. Just walking around a planet or turning to look at something was completely unnatural. That and the constant server outages just made a bad experience worse.

So yeah, while I initially loved most of this game the things I didn't like just got worse over time. It just didn't pay off for the time I was spending in it. That's sad too because it had a lot of potential but now it seems to be more focused on the potential to make money.

I can't recommend it anymore. Not for someone that doesn't want to treat a game as a lifestyle at least and that's what this one does. Of course there's always the option of throwing money at it which is the real objective here.

More fun than the first and the addition of co-op was just what the Dr. ordered!

Awesome that a 3 year old game is still supported and has lost none of its fun.

It's a co-op zombie shooter ( you can play SP if you want) that still entertains. Is it a bit gory? Sure but so are most zombie shooters. It's a great casual FPS and the regular holiday updates keep the content fresh.

If this game has anything going for it it's simplicity. Don't take it too seriously and you'll have a lot more fun. Ignore the leaderboards and drop into multiplayer once in awhile to level up your profile if you want but you don't have to if you want to just enjoy a "casual" FPS experience.
