I have never been more mislead into thinking a game would be good in my entire life. On the outside, this looks absolutely gorgeous. The concept is pretty interesting, the art style is very pleasing, and the animation is absolutely on point. I was so excited to play this game, so when I actually got it and started playing, it was jarring just how garbage everything but the art style was. Walking and stopping makes you feel constantly like you're skating on ice, the level design is atrocious, the combat is confusing and extremely difficult to feel anything from, and when the player starts, they have to figure this all out on their own. When the level design is good, there's no need for a tutorial to be shoved in the player's face, so when there was no tutorial, I was rather hopeful that the game would be clever and show me how to do things instead of telling me. Yet never have I ever wanted a tutorial more than I did during the entirety of the opening level. I had absolutely no idea what was going on, and sadly, no amount of amazing artwork could distract from just how lazy EVERYTHING ELSE was in the game.

Enemy attacks are never telegraphed, and the health bar really should've been an actual BAR instead of the row of heart that acted like a bar. The player takes hits for no fault of their own and cannot avoid them at times just because of how slippery all movement is. I really don't care that this game is a remake of an older game. I don't care how faithful or polished it is. All I want is for it to be GOOD. I want it to feel like thought, care, and creativity was put behind it, not just that the visuals were finished and the rest of the developers said "eh, just do whatever with the rest of it, I don't care." That genuinely feels like the thought process of what went behind this game. I've never wanted a refund so quickly in my entire life. Please, for the love of god, FIX THIS GAME.

I've been having an issue with this game that's absolutely ruining my experience. Now, I love this game, I really do, but the one thing that pisses me off the most is how all the hard work, the hours that I put into this game is wiped every time there's an update. It happens in such an unnatural way as well. I woke up one morning and logged in to see my character's ship flying at a consistent pace with the background looking like the ship was supposed to be speeding up or slowing down from lightspeed. I found this weird and so I logged out and logged back in to find my ship orbiting a starter planet. There was nothing abnormal with my ship, there was nothing out of the ordinary with my character, and my quests were not altered in any way. Because of this, I thought nothing was wrong and I went to my teleporter to beam to my home planet that I placed a personal teleporter on. It was very concerning to see that every bookmarked teleporter was gone exept the normarl "beam to this planet" bookmark. I went down to the planet and gathered 20 core fragments and activated the gate to realize the outpost was completely different. It was all shut down like I hadn't met Esther yet. I then went to Esther to see that none of the outpost characters were there, but the gate had no artifacts in it. Esther acted like we'd met though (which is normal for where my character was in the timeline of the game). Because the shops were all shut down except the mine and the guy with the penguins, I decided to delete my character. Progress could no longer be made. I had defeated Big Ape just before that incident. I was so happy that boss fight was over, and I had to erase it all because of some dumb glitch in the system. This happened TWICE - the second on sooner in the game than the first. I don't care about the updates of the game anymore. I just want to BEAT it for once. But I can't because every time an update comes around, my game bugs out and forcebly ejects me out of my game and whatever progress I'd made.

I'm really, really, upset about this. I don't WANT to be, though. I LOVE starbound. It's one of my favorite games! But this glitch is seriously draining me of all motivation to play. I hope you get this and I hope you understand. Thanks for reading.
