It's a obtrusive hustler game with a constant harrassment asking for money. After you clicked again and again and again that you don't want to "accelerate points" it just asks you again and again and again and again ...

Ceasless blinking yellow arrow. Many meaningless cutscenes. Never stopping to ask for money.

People wrote the game used to be different.
Now Computer Lunch (Studio and Publisher) stand for crooked, intrusive crap!

Don't buy.

AI: Red and all the Achievment Clicker and Printer were a lot faster and less problematic.

AI: Black makes Steam unresponsible. It is not only very slow it is also faulty, it stops or steam.exe crashes and the counter starts at every restart anew. It's the only achievement game that doesn't work. Now I reinstalled it and try anew. Till I reach the last achieved position of achievments hours will pass ...

Every of the above mentioned achievement games works much better.

Edit: After reinstallation Steams gets again very slow and sometimes unresponsive. Normally this starts to happen when the achievements stream in. But in this case the achievements are hours away till I reach my last position and already Steam gets unresponsive.

I don't like to write bad revies but a review should be honest and help others to make a choice:

TL;DR:
  • The start of Starfield did EVERYTHING wrong.
  • The underwhelming graphics were disapointing.
  • A fat warning from Steam would have been nice: Ported from Xbox to PC (!)

First impressions first: The visual settings are insufficiently explained, it is not clear what to choose. Then the visuals: One look at the first blurry character and I knew that it's made for consoles and ported to PC. I was very disappointed.

Then the gameplay when you start: No tutorial at all and you are forced to choose some skills and therefore forfeit a multitude of them before the game even really starts, before you have the slightest idea what you will do in the game, what will be useful and what will be obsolete. But right at the game start you have to make these decisions which will influence the next 100 or 1000 or 10'000 hours. This is a total turnoff for me.

The whole game start itself is very badly designed. No tutorial as mentioned and then I was left alone with a hint that I should find a helmet - which I didn't.

I refuse to use Google to find out where it is. After one hour of searching I broke up. The game might be good if you find your way into it. But after one hour I was done with it and find no motivation to tornment myself more.

Other games you just start and they are fun from the first minute on. They explain what to do with either a tutorial or it is obvious, and so you just play and you have fun and you find out what you like, and don't like, and then you skill up what you like.

After about 8 questions in the Steam Forum the German developper and owner Tobias Springer closed support and abandoned Steam years ago with the comment "I can not develop if I have to answer all the questions here".

No updates since then or any Steam presence. Instead he programs Shapez 2 to make another 2.3 million Euros.

I just love this guys attitude.

You can not even take back a move when playing against the computer.

Impossible to try out diffrent move options, so it is totally useless for learning and no fun.

I don't know what is going on in a programmers head when such an important function is not implemented.

Who ever said life is crap didn't play Portal

It is a great game, easy to learn and hard to master, plentiful of challenges and advanced test chambers and really funny achievments.

If you want to achieve the gold medal for every test chamber you will be busy for a long time.

I can recommend this game uncoditionally.

EDIT 6.11.2017
Half a year earlier I stoped playing this UTTERLY DISAPPOINTING GAME. Meanwhile seemingly nothing important has changed, the producer and devs are deaf to the concerns of the players. There is nothing I can do about it (I already invested wa too much time and effort, I was forced to spend twice more time in the forum than playing the game - I really wanted this game to become good - but the effort was - obviously - in vain). What I can do is that I will NEVER EVER AGAIN buy a game from either ***NGD STUDIOS*** or ***WARGAMING LABS***. These two inept, ignorant, jaded and greedy hustler companies stopped existing for me. The combination of inability in coding and total ignorance of al the customers and fans of Master of Orion is way too bad.

EDIT:
One of the worst game experience I've ever had. MoO was given to NGD studios which had no experience in making 4X strategy games. And then they left 2 month ago leaving behind an unfinished game.

It is not only the total failure of space combat which I discovered first, there are zilliion of things, from missing informaton about own units, huge balance issues, bugs bugs bugs, and an AI who is totally sucking. NGD tried to learn along the way of making their first 4X game but when Victor Kislyi pulled the plug ... everything left ever since in the state. This game should still be early access. When I am playing MoO I discover so many issues, that I spend much more time in the forum reporting and describing issues and looking for a solution fo them. Leaning back and enjoy a game is something different...

The game has a great awesome potential but in the present state I can *not* recommend this game.

There are heavy issues (quasi non-existing multiplayer, bad game design aspects which lead that you have to colonize a lot of small planets rather than a few large planets and therefore you lose yourself in mid and end game in too much colonies with too much details instead of having only a few strong planets and clear overview and your head free to think about strategy and decisions instead of doing tons of micromanagmentg - examples for that: growth penalty on large and huge planet and pollution penalty on large and huge planets with big population and strong industry - many small planets with in summary same strong industry suffer not the same pollution penalty, then bugs bugs bugs, a ton of heavy balance issues resp. AI stupidity - even on the hardest difficulty you beat the AI at first attempt, and the developers from NGD studos have abandoned the game, not a word from them and from Wargaming (who has the intellectual property of MoO) since two months.

One of the big things is the TOTAL FAILURE OF SPACE COMBAT: The AI is not shooting back if you keep your distance:

With a weak ship you can destroy much bigger KI fleets: You use missiles and the AI only uses beam weapons (which have a shorter range). If you keep your distance you can fire missile after missile after missile while the KI fleet does not fire a single shot back - simply because ther weapons are out of range and they dont build fast ships to quickly bridge the distance.

You dont have to research and build good ships and weapons and shields, armor etc. and build huge armies, if a single weak ship with some lousy missiles is enough to win vs KI even on the hardest difficulty.

THIS IS A TOTAL DEAL BREAKER!

Furthermore there is no up-to-date manual and apart from the new stuff in the outdated manual even many of the older things are not explained e.g. that population on small planets growth faster (that is a pretty important thing which you might easily miss to discover if you don't know it), how armor penetration and armor resilience is working (these two terms are in the short tutorial - but missing in the manual), how ground combat is working, etc.

THE GAME HAS A GREAT POTENTIAL - IF ONLY IT WOULD BE USED BY SOME CARING DEVELOPERS.

Basically we paid for the game and now it is up to us to fix it. If you did not buy the game I would check back in half a year, because there are many things you can not just mod, in order to improve those things you have to change the code. And btw I don't like the idea that you first have to do your bachelor in MoO and install a ton of mods before you can enjoy your game

Should the developers ever come back and fix the space combat system and the other things then I will write a new review.

BTW: The space combat is in real time though the game is round based. that alone is strange, but I could forgive it if only it would work with an AI who is able to shoot back in a space battle. There is a guy who writes one game fix mod after another - but the devs do not even apply these fixes in a new version. It is beyond me how you can willingly keep some known bugs for which even a resolution have been found. This mindset of publisher and developers I can not understand.

Boring and meaningless first person shooter. My motivaton to finish this game is zero, this game is not innovative and no fun.

Awesome game at it's time. I played the game about three times (outside of Steam). It was my first shooter with augments and that really added a lot to the usual common fps I played before. A more immersive Sci-Fy feeling. It's a while since I played it the last time but if I remember right you get pretty much after each map a new neuronal augment and the augments you already have improve the connection and co-working with the brain, so you can use them longer in the new, and all further, mission. Of course you also get new weapons and you can combine multiple augments and bind these combinations to differen hotkeys, that let's you prepare for every coming situation the right "booster-combo". There are also some tough sniper episodes which I liked. If you play Chrome on the harder levels it's a tough game and a good challenge. All this creates a strong motivation.

At moment you get Chrome and SpecForce ("Chrome 2") together for one dollar. http://gtm.you1.cn/storesteam/sub/4340/

If you don't care that Chrome has older - but not that bad - graphics it provides you a lot of fun for a dollar.

The best multiplayer shooter I've ever played. There are hundreds of things to learn. The game is divided into different game modes (like Warfare, Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, Duel, Capture The Flag, Vehicle Capture The Flag, ...), and the community is constantly creating new mutators and new maps, so it never gets boring.

UT3 is a very fast paced thrilling game and you have special movements like dodging and wall dodging which are hard to master but it makes you moving even quicker and much harder to hit. It doesn't matter how tired you are before the game: As soon you're in the game you feel like on adrenaline with eyes wide open and an alert mind. You will hardly experience a boring moment. So if you are looking for a comfy boring game to call it a day and make yourself ready for sleep --- then you are completely wrong with UT3. In the first few weeks UT3 felt kind of ridiculous fast.

However, after a while my brain adapted and I got used to it. Since then, whenever I try to play another shooter the new shooter feels slow like sneaking and without dodge and wall dodge movement like beeing an immobile target.

In other words: It takes you a while to get accustomed with UT3. But once you mastered it you are like edicted and it's hard to go back playing other shooters.

I've played it more than 10.000 hours, first without Steam, now with Steam, still playing almost every day

Please recommend my review if it gave you an impression of the game
