Get it on sale if you can, there's not a lot here. I recommend if you enjoyed the VR missions from the previous games and Peace Walker. You get the most out of this by trying to do better on the missions every time, finding all the secrets, and doing the trials.

The game looks great but the slippery platforming is frustrating. Even for an "artsy game" it becomes more style over substance once you see the themes it's playing with.

If you enjoy the games from the era that this game is trying to emulate like Banjo Kazooie and LSD Dream Sim, you might find more to enjoy out of it than I did.

I really love X, but I haven't beat it yet. I recommend this game purely for it's vibe.

X sorta feels like having a very friendly neighbor who is old and also doesn't speak English very well. You have to be patient with them, and it's clear they get some things wrong... but they are very jovial and sentimental in an odd way. Plus they invite you to parties with good food from another country.

It's a nice change of pace from SMT V and Ringo is fune. Hopefully they will patch some more performance issues over time.

It feels like walking around a park made of the collective unconscious. I come here all the time just to ponder.

The horrors of mental health in a trippy visual novel. Easy to get emotionally attached to if you have first hand experience with mental health and it's stigmas.

I keep coming back to this for the combat. The guns have a punch to them when they're fired, and the melee combat is satisfying. Each melee weapon has a set of simple combos to them that are efficient to switch between battles. I'm a bit biased in that I also like when games let me roll around... so that's a plus if you like rolling.

Essentially what you're getting is
-10-ish hour single player
-Dead multiplayer unless you can coordinate where/when people are playing it

Get it when it's on sale.

This game is too expensive for what it's worth. Don't get me wrong, it's fun and I'm thankful there's a handful of people still playing it.
I got this on sale a long time ago and got all the DLC for free when I received the upgrade to the Anniversary Edition.

You can tell by the collective reviews for this game that it's good. I'm recommending it too, but with a big giant qualifier regarding the gameplay.

In Witcher 2, you could fight an enemy that's stronger than you and win with enough preparation, skill, and knowledge of the enemy. Even with a lot of character progression in TW2 you could still get squashed easily, making the enemies and environments feel dangerous. In Witcher 3 enemies you can fight are determined by your level. Enemies a higher level than you will destroy you easily unless you patiently whack at them through a tedious fight that lasts forever because your damage is based on level as well.

Sad to see this game end up having a formula similar to an MMO. Plus, if you do too many sidequests you'll grow overleveled by mid game and be able to destroy everything around you. Preparation doesn't matter as much with oils/potions being applicable mid-combat, so as long as you have the formulas/diagrams for potions and gear it's not even something to worry about. You're not likely to find any difficult bosses in this game even on the highest difficulty (you may die a couple times figuring out pattern/weakness but that's nothing compared to the previous game). Halfway through the main quest after doing most of the sidequests, I rarely feel the need to be careful about anything and I spend a lot of time destroying the ecosystems for money and loot (a very profitable venture I'm sure you know).

I got bored a lot with this one, but I stuck with it because I really like the characters/story/atmosphere and I wanted to try it after importing a save carried over from the previous two games. I know a lot of what I said is negative, but the game's praises are already spoken for. It's good!

This VN is the definitive way to experience the story. I like how the story includes most of the theories of time travel and tries to tie them all together. Every character contributes to advancing the story in some way and it makes the game feel tightly composed even though it'll take awhile to get any of the endings. Should be obvious, but I think it's a fair warning to say if you're not that into 90s/2000s anime/otaku stuff like mecha, moe and 4chan etc it could be a turn off bc it's all over the place. Same goes with conspiracy theories which this VN has a lot of. If you're into all that like I am, you might find this VN is a blast. It takes me back to a nostalgic place where flip phones were still a thing, analog technology was still prevalent, otaku culture was far more inaccessable, memes hadn't exploded into the public, and normals were only just starting to notice anime before streaming Crunchyroll/Netflix became popular. Takes me back, man.

I can't believe anyone at Eidos was actually proud to have worked on this dumpster fire.
