At first it was not so great, but this game grows on you and becomes quite fun. Might be a good game to play in multiplayer. Very similar to a Diablo like clone.

That was my review some 10 years ago. I am now replaying it and have revised what I think about it..

This is fun game, actually! Some primitive elements, yes.. such as dialog and some attack moves, but the graphics have held up very well with lots of details and nice touches just oozing with atmosphere (augmented by the very cool music and ambient background sounds).. torches drip flame, cavern walls crumble, etc.

Gamespy was used for the game's multiplayer (push cancel on this when the game first starts). Since Gamespy is now kaput.. single player is the only option, unless one can find a patch somewhere to circumvent.

I think the game is very cheap now and certainly worth a play if you like, and are familiar with, the lore of Dungeons and Dragons - especially what has led up to this point.

BTW: If you want to get a screen resolution not available through the game's options, just go to your documents folder and look for My Games - Daggerdale. There will be a game.ini file that one can edit the standard 1260 x 800 resolution to anything you want.
