Being a fan of the first game, American McGee's Alice, I was amazingly excited for the second one. However, part of the way through it, I became bored and decided to leave the title for another time. Months later, I returned to complete it on Nightmare Mode from the start. What I'm left with is a sense of satisfaction with an at-times frustrating, but rewarding combat system paired with goreous art direction, music, and and a nice story to boot. (To note on the combat, it was my skills in Nightmare Mode that made the combat frustrating.) Alas, the game had one stand-out element that made me go "meh." Each level has this familiar formula for pacing and layout, but with a new gorgeous skin on top of it. Because of this, it was only when I got to boss fights did things feel truly exciting aside from a couple of levels (Queensland, Dollhouse). This choice coupled with the length of the levels made them seem slighty stagnant; a complete contrast to the art of each one. Strong bias against the formulaeic level design aside, the story was well done in the end, and made me wish the first game had a story as fleshed out as this one has mustered. 7.75/10 - Definitely worthy of your time, but not going to win a "Best Game of All Time" award.

This documentary of professional gamers goes through the gauntlet that is The International DOTA 2 tournament. The film is a roller coaster of excitement, sadness for the players' personal journeys, and moments of humility that put each life shown into perspective. Well shot, paced, told, and expressionist of the future of "sports" as we know it. I recommend it to everyone!

While I've not finished this game yet, because quite frankly it gets hard and I've had studies to complete, I can honestly say it brutally fun. Completely a level is EXTREMELY gratifying and the ways you can kill enemies is very inventive. Great production on this one as well. Check it out, especially since currently it's only $2.49 (as of 12/8/13)!

I'm having a lot of fun with this game. Take the idea of multiple vehicles like in Diddy Kong Racing and add to that what makes Mario Kart so fun, but in a fluid way, and you've basically got the gameplay. Add a splash of dramatic, theme park-esque levels, and PC exclusive unlockable characters and you've got something a bit more special than the previously mentioned games.

I'm a FEAR fan and unfortunately haven't had the chance to play FEAR 3 yet, but I can say from my point of view that FEAR 2 has some of the most nerve-wracking moments in the series. Must I remind others of the School? And despite what some say, this was my favorite in the series. It overall seemed better produced, better atmosphere, and much more in your face. If only the devs had released the source files to the community to keep the game alive. Overall, I give this game 7.5/10, and would give a better score had there been better community support from the devs and publisher.
