Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet is a fun little 2D action-adventure game. The game's impressive artwork alone is a reason to play it. Gameplay wise it's just not very challenging nor groundbreaking in any way, yet it somehow manages to keep you interested until the very end. Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet is not new, not unsurpassed, but actually quite good if you can forgive the game for its flaws.

+Jaw-dropping artwork, a true visual masterpiece
+Beautiful and diverse environments
+Lots of weapons, tools and upgrades
+Around 8-10 hours of playtime
+Well designed boss battles

-Lackluster puzzles
-Not really difficult (but it fits the game)
-Mandatory GFWL
-Annoying world map
-No music

I did it again. After The Walking Dead this is another story driven game that made me cry. Much like The Walking Dead, this game should not be taken for its gameplay, as there barely is any. Not for its graphics either. The story however, is another masterpiece.

In a few some hours you go down the road of this complex, charming and downright emotional story. It manages to capture the (S)NES era perfectly, with a lot of references to it. As it’s well balanced on jokes and serious matters alike, it makes it easy to consume.

One suggestion, just complete it at once in a 5 hour session, to avoid missing out on the details.

+Wonderful story
+Touching and funny at the same time
+Lots of references to pop culture and times long past
+Doesn’t fail to entertain despite the lack of actual gameplay
+SNES graphics

-Not challenging
-Could’ve used some variety in mini-games and puzzles
-Sometimes wanders off a little too far from the main theme

A marvelous achievement in storytelling. While the plot is not the strongest, it’s possibly the best told story I’ve ever seen. It left my crying like a baby (manly tears, ok?) and it still gives me goose bumps whenever I think of the finale.

Considering it’s a point and click adventure game, the gameplay is not that legendary. However, for that kind of game it’s nowhere near as simplistic as you might expect. Filled up with a lot of QuickTime Events and first person action it’s slowly rising above it’s own genre, easily one of the very best of it’s kind.

Don’t miss out on this if you enjoy a solid, but above all perfectly told story.

+The best kind of storytelling ever achieved.
+Extremely solid voice acting.
+Innovative, crosses various boundaries of its genre.

-Not completely free of bugs
-Quicktime Events
-Despite the story is tailored to the choices you make, the outcome doesn’t change all that much.

A very cute little game which gives you the unique ability to destroy and shape the world at your will. While the whole game is built around this gimmick, it works surprisingly well and gives the player a true sense of freedom where creativity is rewarded.

+The 'cut and shape' ability is awesome, which to my knowledge, hasn't been done before. Not this well at least.
+Freedom, lots of it.
+Lots of stuff to do outside of the given path.
+Cell shaded
+Challenging puzzles
+Mini games
+Soundtrack

-Controls are not perfect, take some time to master
-No voice acting
-Possibly quite short if you don't like to explore
-Somewhat strange checkpoint system
