Hits like crack when the timer is blue

I love it. It's one of those small things that make me feel warm and fuzzy inside. Don't buy it for complex gameplay or being entertained for more than 30-60min. Buy it if you like the trailer and are looking for something nice and cute. Life's hard enough - this game surely isn't :)

I love this game, it's my first 100% (on Steam). That doesn't mean it's perfect, it has quite some flaws. But there are myriads works of art with notable flaws that cannot outweigh the fantastic essence at its core – this game is one of those.

Be advised that the game is not properly optimized, and you might run into various technical issues regardless of the power of your rig. Furthermore, it's obvious that the game was rushed towards the end as the quality suffers the further you get. But the sheer amount of content, the incredibly detailed world, the intriguing characters we meet, the wonderful boss fights and the tales set in Chinese mythology have more staying power than any bug, invisible wall or slightly lackluster part ever could.

You need some patience, and it helps if you’re familiar with souls-likes as the combat and quest design bear some resemblance. Still, I think it’s accessible and rewards persistence and adaptability when faced with challenging bosses. I hope that DLC and/or sequels will follow as I’d love to expand my horizon further regarding Chinese myths and tales.

Diablo 2 LoD was my favourite game as a teen and I must have sunk hundreds of hours into it. After getting burned by D3 horrible story, I was hesitant to buy this one. While I agree with all the issues mentioned in various reviews (bad itemisation, overpriced microtransaction, unsatisfying endgame, forced online etc.) I still enjoyed my time with the campaign. Having bought the game on sale, I spent a bit more than $1 per hour I played the game. Having enjoyed every minute of the story and being impressed by the look and feel of the game, that is an OK value for my money. Therefore, I can recommend the game if you're seeking a similar experience.

Do not buy the game if you intend to skip the campaign and/or if you're looking for a game to sink hundreds of hours into, like PoE for example. You will be disappointed and rightfully so. Furthermore, do not buy the game at full price . I would not recommend the game if I had paid the full price.
