Normally, this is a game wherein it appeals to people who like deck building games such as Slay the Spire, Rogue Adventures (mobile) and Dominion, the board game. HOWEVER, this game also combines elements of "escape the room" games and even loads of puzzle solving amidst the classic deck building elements you see.

Getting into the first hour of gameplay reveals that there's a narrative inside the game that's beyond my own expectations.

Pretty much a solid game based on my first impressions.

UPDATE 1:

I thought it was just a simple game of slay the spire interface and mechanics with "escape the room" elements but turns out that there's more to the game than what one can simply read off the reviews from. It got me thinking hard at its puzzles and even got me surprised at the bits and pieces of its narrative.

Not gonna lie but the future of storytelling seems to be promising when you have this, Hades and even 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim made in the past 2 years.

Definitely, a strong contender for the The Game Awards 2021 "Best Simulation/Strategy" and probably my GOTY (among the games released this year that I've played).

Really fun game to burn down 30 mins of pure fun when dominating and rage when you find out your teammates are bad or the enemies are just that good.

It's that kind of game that once you finally get the hang of things, the circumstances keep getting better and interesting enough that your "one last time" will be your third or fourth time uttered phrase before you call it a night.

A solid recommendation that you makes you realize why it's a dark horse in the The Game Awards 2020 GOTY discussion.

Orwell is that kind of game that makes you decide upon a choice and either regret or be satisfied with it. It's a game that makes you appreciate the possibility for an omniscient being in determining the potential outcome for any scenario and at the same time the fright for the same possibilty in hindering the possibility of freedom to actually exist.

I enjoyed the game on my first playthrough as I questioned myself multiple times whether I was doing the right thing or not as choices emerged from chapter to chapter. It's definitely a game worth playing and remembering if you were to ask me.

About to do the 2nd playthrough just to complete the achievements soon. But indeed, every choice you make in this game has resounding consequences and rewards.

This game is quite good for a dollar or less. I just have issues on the controls as there is no prompt stating that which buttons are to be used. Gladly, people who have experienced playing gameboy emulators can adapt fairly quickly.

Pros:
Theme: Mystery
Cheap game
Suspense and Thriller
Riddles

Cons:
User Interface (might need some adjustments)
Controls (a little bit; may need a dash button but maybe that's just me)
No in game guide when you're lost (or maybe it was intended for you to guess similar to a broken house scenario)

For a dollar or less, this game is probably good for those who want something new to the suspense genre.
