Great art style and nice story. The combat is fun and it plays well on the Steam Deck.

As a long time SOR fan I'm very disappointed with this game. It's missing a lot of the base elements that made the previous three games great. (yes I liked SoR3)
While the art direction and level designs are nice there are too many poorly made game-play development decisions that make this game very frustrating to play.
My biggest issue is the hit and hurt boxes do not line up with character sprites.
This becomes very apparent since normal enemy attacks have shorter frame animations giving their attacks higher priority. (AI movement and attack is based on player input) Pared with the enemy's faster movement speed means they can move in and out of your attack range while sneaking in a quick jab, breaking the player's combo and losing any accumulated bonus points.
Trying to play this game at high level is a journey of self harm, and while it can be done it's not a fun experience.

A very basic beat'em up that does nothing unique or special. It's a homage to nothing. The controller support is terrible, the game only uses the analog stick is used for movement and can't be changed.

Fun co-op game. Lot's of weapons and styles of play to earn.
The character customization should when an award.
