I played this game when it came out, and it was a great experience. The difficulty felt fair, with a reasonable challenge and good progression. That's where my ~20hrs of gameplay come from. But this isn't the game I played anymore.

Every couple of years I boot it back up, and every time, it feels like a different game:

- Once, I started a fresh character and was dealing thousands of damage, so I had no idea what my actual damage stat was. I died quickly, and after a few attempts, I quit out of frustration with not knowing what was going on.

- Later, I started fresh again, and game had become a Diablo clone. The gameplay was so ridiculously easy that it felt less like a game, and more like playing with god mode enabled. Apparently you were meant to grind through the monotony of the first difficulty to get to the "real" game, on the higher difficulties. But it's not fun, so why bother?

- Now, there's a "Hero Siege 2.0" update coming soon that will change everything again. Who knows what the game will be after that? With how vast the changes are with all these updates, I don't know why the devs don't just release sequels, instead of constantly changing the entire experience.

Basically, every major update changes the game completely, so it's impossible to review, because who knows what you'll get? The original release was great, but every time I try it again, it's either boring unbalanced. So it's a hard pass for me.
