Absolutely awful game mechanics, clunky controls, and downright idiotic situations where the game asks for a contradiction but the right answer isn't a contradiction. Inconsistent junk.

Good story though, just watch it on YouTube. Soundtrack is godlike as well, just listen to it online. The game is not worth your time at all.

Still buggy after over a year, consistent softlocks either due to terrain or invisible walls that spawn due to mini bosses. The whole interesting mechanic of the game are the platforms and it seems there's no clever algorithm that prevents you getting platforms that can softlock you. So if you're unlucky, the random platform generation can block your progress completely.

I don't agree with others about the combat, I actually think it's satisfying, even the controls are fine. The main issue is that enemies telegraphing and the timing for parries are inconsistent. You have to parry way before they start attacking to land a parry in most cases, which makes the visual cue feel pointless, the visual cue happens about a second too late. That would also be easy to fix...

Game feels great overall and the art and ost is amazing but it baffles me that the tiniest issues that hurt the game so much and would be very easy to fix just aren't getting fixed.

perhaps beneath it all is hidden an interesting analogy/argument for why a world without death would become disgusting and meaningless

very satisfying and unconstrained gameplay as well as an overwhelmingly unique experience. the rest is an acquired taste, not for everyone. consider carefully whether this is for you

i think I hate this game.

Constant crashes, badly optimised for this day and age, constant stutters, puzzles are frustrating, not because they're difficult, but because this stupid Josef robot inconsistently can reach or cannot reach sometimes. Multiple times I got stuck for 30 minutes because I had everything I needed, I tried the right combination of using items, but Josef just said his usual dumbass "e-e!" and refused to do anything. Then out of frustration I just try everything with everything, and it turns out I did the right combination forever ago, but he just was 1 milimeter too far to the left to register that he can reach that spot with that item!!! So stupid how many times this has happened to me. Other times I ran into issues where I had the right idea but the click-able hitbox was too small, so once I tried to click something in the right spot but failed, I would move on, even though that was the right solution!!!

Soundtrack is godly, and ambience too, definitely everyone should experience and enjoy. But to enjoy those two, you can just watch a silent walkthrough or listen to the OST online. The gameplay itself is not enjoyable and is probably one of the lower quality point and click puzzle games I ever played (and I LOVE puzzle games).

I say all this despite my nostalgia for this game as a 9yo kid that went into this almost fresh remembering nothing but long gone images. It's a lovely little game, but it hasn't aged well.

Best game ever made

If I could force every person on this planet to play and experience this story, these environments, the message and the mind elevating puzzles, I would without a beat. I am convinced it would make the world better.

This is not just GOTY for me. It might be GOAT. Please experience it for yourself, unless you really hate puzzle games. Because even everything besides the puzzles provides a lot of meaning and could change how you look at life. The game is a steal for the price. It really is worth much more than any triple A game I've ever played.

The first Talos Principle game was incredible on its own and this sequel was not something I asked for but I am so glad it was made. You may consider playing the first one first if you want the full mystery and story, but it's not necessary.

Single player experience is absolutely ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Klassic Tower AI just input reads and Invasions are the most boring concept and execution I had to sit through probably ever. And Netherrealm studios still hasn't hired a single qualified programmer or game designer to flesh out the single player side of their games. Do not get this game unless you are planning on playing online exclusively. That side of the game is fine, even fun, but with the price tag and low, garbage tier quality of the actual game design, this game does not deserve a positive review.

Very cool concepts and gameplay loop but still a bit lacking. If this intrigues you, you should definitely follow and wishlist the game and wait for it to get just a teensy bit more features or for it to get cheaper.

I am personally excited to see where the game goes in the meantime, but would hold off on buying it in early access for this price at the moment.

EDIT: The devs continue to add and support this game and I think it really deserves more attention now.
