Every time I come back to CK3 I am disappointed by how little the game has improved since the last time I played. The game still doesn't have any real difficulty to it, getting OP alliances is still trivial, and you don't even need them 90% of the time. It still feels like a slog to the inevitable.

The only things they're adding are random notifications and events that even if I read, I do not find interesting anymore. Or mechanics that unnecessarily bloat the game without adding depth, like the most recent legitimacy or plague mechanics. Legitimacy is a nice concept but I never felt in my last 2 runs that its execution made any sense or had any real impact. Overall, compared to at release, to me CK3 now feels like just a more bloated, obnoxious version of the same game.

I always liked the statecraft in the game, developing holdings, culture, religion and a dynasty over time. I feel like updates and DLCs haven't focused on that at all, to the game's detriment. I suppose it took me 170 hours too long to figure out that this game just isn't for me, as I imagine many people probably like these sorts of things about the game.

TL;DR: I think the game gets worse over time, just like Stellaris. Lots of wasted potential.

Very fun, very well designed mechanics and movement, and challenging speed-focused platformer.

The soundtrack is so stimulating and perfecting levels so satisfying that you will eventually find yourself making Peppino's level clear poses sub-consciously in real life

I gave it a solid go.

It is dreadfully boring. The art direction is awful. AI is as terrible as in Civ V, except this time, you are constantly reminded of this fact because they will tell you why they don't like you (and they are often wrong). Movement is now unsatisftying and delayed. Whole game is sluggish and clunky compared to the flow of Civ IV/Civ V. So many arbitrary, uninteresting mechanics, none of which play and synergise with each other. Win conditions are like 6 different sub-games glued together, none of which have any depth. With Gathering Storms, game becomes even more annoying, because your improvements, which are already clunky and take long to build because of the new builder system, will get randomly destroyed, stalling your progress in a way that's not your fault. Sure, you don't have to settle there, but in my first game in Gathering storms, these natural disasters happened once every 15 turns on almost every part of the continent. You can't -not settle-. This game is the epitome of shallow quantity over quality in terms of the game design philosophy.

I cannot understand how people enjoy this.

I am a huge nitpicker and I always find something to complain about. Except this time.

I am admittedly only 3 hours in but so far every mechanic feels so clever and fulfilling to me as someone who played Reus 1.

This so far feels like the perfect sequel that expands on the ideas of the first game and executes them better.

UPDATE: Just over 25 hours in now, it really is just amazing. If I had to nitpick, I would have to try really hard, and it's only tiny QoL things that the devs will eventually add anyway, as they often do. I have nothing but praise for this sequel. Looking forward to what devs to with this really strong foundation, and I hope the game gets the attention it deserves.

"If you expect perfection from me, I expect perfection from you."

Awful and unsatisfying to try to complete due to terrible box placement design, mid-tier and uninspiring soundtrack, egregiously long levels to the point that having to play through them multiple times makes them irritating, and controls and camera angles could also use some work.

Overall decent game, but I do not recommend it due to the price and because I've had more negative experiences with it than positive.

After having 100%ed the game, collected all emblems and gotten all steam achievements, I can confidently, without a doubt, call this the worst Sonic Experience I ever sat through. I am not even remotely exaggerating. I would maybe even call this the worst game I ever played and completed, period.

It's just so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ bad ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

No game I have ever played in my life has aged worse than this (though after 100%ing, I question whether it was ever good in the first place, given other 3D playformers released around 1998), and I'm the type of mf that plays ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ DOS games on an emulator.

Everything in this game except Sonic and Knuckles levels infuriates me, and even those are infested with awful pointless hub world and glitches and awkward as hell cutscenes. I enjoy SA2 but I can't stand SA1.

I have to say the game is even much worse than I originally thought. If the game was a 4/10 for me before trying to complete it, it's a 1/10 now. Do not commit yourself to completing this game, it's a miserable experience that will put you on a life quest to murder every single Sonic Team employee. How do people like this? Nostalgia only. Deservers a complete remake, from the ground up, every level, story element, gameplay... There's just nothing worth saving here, except the story and art concepts.

Great game, as far as RPGMaker games go. I liked the artstyle, the atmosphere, and even the story was amusing. Combat wasn't too easy, except near the end of the game, once I got really good at it.

Game is funny already in English, and I played it for the first few hours like that. Then I changed the setting to Slovak and it somehow became even funnier. If you're Slovak or Czech, chances are, you'll love this.

I recommend.

Absolutely awful game mechanics, clunky controls, and downright idiotic situations where the game asks for a contradiction but the right answer isn't a contradiction. Inconsistent junk.

Good story though, just watch it on YouTube. Soundtrack is godlike as well, just listen to it online. The game is not worth your time at all.

Still buggy after over a year, consistent softlocks either due to terrain or invisible walls that spawn due to mini bosses. The whole interesting mechanic of the game are the platforms and it seems there's no clever algorithm that prevents you getting platforms that can softlock you. So if you're unlucky, the random platform generation can block your progress completely.

I don't agree with others about the combat, I actually think it's satisfying, even the controls are fine. The main issue is that enemies telegraphing and the timing for parries are inconsistent. You have to parry way before they start attacking to land a parry in most cases, which makes the visual cue feel pointless, the visual cue happens about a second too late. That would also be easy to fix...

Game feels great overall and the art and ost is amazing but it baffles me that the tiniest issues that hurt the game so much and would be very easy to fix just aren't getting fixed.
