Age of Empires II has been remastered perfectly in this definitive edition. The graphics look good (even better with the HD texture pack), the controls are responsive and there is a whole lot more content than we ever had back in the original AoE II days. The game continues to harbor a multitude of strategies, such as early game troop or tower rushing, mid game knight attacks and the almighty late game economy battles. I'll also praise the developers for the inclusion of so many civilizations. I particularly enjoyed playing as the Eastern European civilizations, such as the Slavs, Magyars, Lithuanians and Bulgarians. The game is at its best, in my opinion, when played with friends, however there is plenty of fun to be had by yourself especially in the competitive scene.
