This game is quite the experience. Going in blind for the first time is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ terrifying, and even now after a decent bit of playtime, it still manages to spook me. It's good fun with friends, and the scuff is part of the experience for sure. I just wish that the lobbies didn't break so frequently.

After the VR Overhaul earlier this year in 2022 I've tried the game several times and every time felt severely disgusted with the state of the game currently. It's clear to me that they never play tested this game on an index, as the controls are ♥♥♥♥, the grip strength you need for the "hold" option requires a deathgrip if you don't want to drop your equipment (something that wasn't broken until the update BTW). The game is even more unoptimized than earlier versions somehow, and the menus don't work properly (since click and drag is too easy to trigger it cant decide if you're clicking a button or scrolling so I often have to spam click)
I also find the difficulty has been cranked in a way that's unfun to the player. The grace period used to be balanced and let you know whether to hide immediately or to run, but now the ghost can literally spawn inside you and kill you instantaneously unless you *happened* to have a smudge and fill your inventory just to stay alive for a few meager seconds. Oh yeah, there's also a ghost that has wall hacks and you can't hide from, not to mention the fact it's a guessing game with how many ghost types there are now; So ♥♥♥♥ you as the player I guess.

I'm upset as you can probably tell, I loved this game and I have fond memories with friends, but I'm uninstalling and likely never returning. It's just not fun anymore.

Can I start off by saying that this game has acheivements that are literally impossible because the game will disintegrate before you get halfway, like the one where you use one of everything in a single map. I crash almost every time when only getting halfway through, and it's very obnoxious. I don't know why I bought this game way back when to begin with, but I regret it.

A good platformer with a good atmosphere, great story telling, and a perfectly executed "♥♥♥♥ you" attitude. This game will make you feel overpowered, and then prove that you're not.
