The game is great, if you love modded minecraft production lines or factorio you will probably love it. I have sunk a bunch of time into it.

The only reason this review is negative is due to the rover in literally every single one of the promo images. The rover IS in the game but crafting is disabled because they want to overhaul some other garbage with the terrain. Apparently there also used to be an alien planet but that too was removed because of some terrain overhaul that's taken forever to come apparently.

The irony of the rover especially is it is entirely functional. The only catch is you can't eat or drink in it which admittedly sucks. The stated reason "it's coming back when we overhaul terrain" doesn't seem to hold much water to me when it works 90% right now and would be amazing to do some longer term exploration.

As it is right now you just build a base next to the spawn. If you wanted to take storage with you far from the spawn you basically just have to drag a giant crate around which is ridiculous. A rover would solve this.

I have died so many times it's rage inducing. The random layouts just seem to screw you sometimes. It's all part of the game. One thing they don't tell you is that it's a roguelite. It's 9 floors + a boss floor per each chapter. If you die at any point - you redo the chapter and lose ALL your upgrades. There's upgrades you can get which are permanent but they are ok at best. Things like "reroll the shop once per floor".

Overall having a lot of fun. The soundtracks so good, even dying means you get to take a new approach. It blends really nicely and makes it feel like a rhythm game. I do NOT recommend max difficulty for first playthrough - even if you struggle through the first part the new enemies will stump you a bit.

Get it at full price.

Boring gray scale game. Like Fallout but without the compelling setting or introduction and literally everything is a shade of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ gray. If you want an interesting setting for the same effect buy Fallout 3, then New Vegas and install Tale of Two Wastelands to backport New Vegas's gameplay mechanics to Fallout 3.

I wandered around for 3 hours, took a job from some random dumb ass in a bunker, killed some random featureless enemies and threw a screw at a rock before grabbing it. There was no compelling reason to do any of this other than it was what was in front of me. The AI is borderline braindead and I dragged myself through the entire thing.

If you want the mechanics of new vegas on a newer engine dont bother, they decided to learn nothing and fail horribly at being original.

it's a fun metroidvania, I cannot stop throwing myself at the game. It begins all ominous, quickly you begin to experiment and try things. The gameplay deeply rewards exploration, finding secrets, finally managing to leverage your unlocked items to solve puzzles. Manage your expectations though because this game is all gameplay and no story (not that it was advertised with one).

It suffers from the same issue Rain World did at release: the environment tells a story, the enemy design tells a story, there's clearly some intent behind every single ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ corner of the game but the developer simply did not add any story payoff, neither at the end or otherwise in some secret journal/notes you can find. You could swap out all the art, keep the puzzles, and it wouldn't really be out of place. Yet the artist clearly had intent when making each and every pixel to the point it seems there was a story but it simply was not added.

That said it's a super fun metroidvania and the puzzles are pretty fun, I am not great at puzzles but found through experimentation most of them I have seen can be solved. Death doesn't set you back too far and the unlockables feel like an old zelda game as each changes the gameplay or lets you go back and open old places. Just don't buy it for a story.

It will probably not be your next great addiction but if you enjoy romping around in a mech and extremely casual survival games then it is pretty fun. They have a roadmap and a clear plan it seems they just have to deliver on it. Time will tell.

Fun, short, VERY* emotional. Kind of a puzzle adventure type game. Very inspiring.

This sounds really dumb but it's a walking simulator with a philosophical twist. There's a handful of action/life or death situations where if you walk the wrong direction you die. The checkpoint will be less than 5 minutes away though so it's really just guided cinematics at that point. The appeal lies entirely within the story and character development and I think it delivers extremely well.

Writing a review without giving away the magic of what makes it great is difficult but it's more or less in the title: 'not everything everywhere is for us'. You are a survivor and asked to make difficult decisions about who deserves to live, at what point you cut your losses and what your viewpoints on life are. This is why it is a philosophical journey and, depending on your choices, you get one of I think 3 endings with your consequences told to you throughout the game before it ends. So really you get more 'endings' than the ending slides you just get them as you play.

If you are a reflective person who likes thinking about our place in the universe and what it means to live on a rock around a star then I think you will enjoy this game. It has light exploration elements tied in but the character development was very satisfying, the story progressed at a reasonable pace, and the plot its self felt well written.

I hope they follow up with more games like this that ask questions we can't possibly have any subjective answer to because I still think about this game. I played it 6 months ago and even now I think about conversations some of the characters had just to wonder what it all means to me.
