When you lose because the game was still loading, you know the game isn't good. I had lots of trouble to make this crappy excuse of game running on a controller, and it's hard to move through this terrible interface menu. Nonsensical save-sytem, boring voice acting, but at least Kovac is funny.

This fighting, combo-based game is way too good and artistical to be criticized, and even if this game can't do it all the time I simply won't add complains to the list with any specifics, because it deserves a lot more cumpliments. And for all the publishers who didn't wanted to help Dontnod to launch a female based game, just because the chick likes some dude in this plot, Well I have a word for you: Go โ™ฅโ™ฅโ™ฅโ™ฅ yourselfs.

I have seen greater games than that, and this crap is having a sequel while Alien Isolation isn't. This industry is crazy. Gonna have to try harder than that if you want to scare me. It was a weak experience to me, bad mechanics, cheesy graphics even for its time and also, it has this old horror cliche that some of us are used to accept as ''great''.

The character is fully irritating and his documents after saving just tries to tell you the story, that the game can't show you, because the game is simply incompetent with that. An extremely low quality dialog is only follwed by your character's retardment, like Forrest Gump. Your only self defense is to run, nope you can't even throw stuff to diverge attention. So Run Forrest, Run.

You can take batteries to recharge, you can jump with a camera on your hand, you're the master of all guts on earth, but you can't take a club or a iron chair to hit a lunatic in the head. Who needs a dead cop's pistol when you're trapped with one hundred other lunatics? It's just better to dutifully act as a ''different'' game and take that battery on the cop's pocket instead. That's it.

Honestly, if you're oldschool, get your fingers out the buy button. It will only impress you, if you don't know much about survival nor about horror. When I was starting to like this because of its good moments (because they're there too) the game ended with a pathetic ending, only possible to come out from generic writting. It is no secret but might be an spoiler if you're a noob on the genre. Generic to me is everything that ends like B horror movies and its laughable rules. Rule number 1: evil always lives regardeless if the current logic shows otherwise. The game literally spilled every small good thing he had by swapping the theme from low pits of hell to cybernetic nano-โ™ฅโ™ฅโ™ฅโ™ฅโ™ฅโ™ฅโ™ฅโ™ฅ. It simply didn't worked for me.

Try to imagine if this game could have some sort of low resolution recording, or you could choose it, so you could watch it all later in some sort of crazy afterwards? But the game could'nt even do that, making lots of things truly pointless.

I give to that "effort" a big f.a.k.k.ing zero.

It's just Ubermosh 1 with black chilli on top of a hotter cover girl. It's time for some spicy nyotaimori with better balance and a progressive difficulty. It has been literally hard to bite but easy to swallow (insert orgasmic joke here)

Still waiting for THAT game with some plot and stages. The cheesy the better, just as the voice intro. With this frenzy and music you did and with your reputation so far, every odd is on your favor. I could volunteer myself to help writing it for the pleasure of it.

*For those who think that a plot would ruin it, you probably don't know much bout Mega Man X (4+) and hundred others hard games like Space Mega Force as an quickly example.

You know what? People just complain too much. Way too much. Do they realize this was an indie game? Maybe that's no excuse, but then again, how hard was to make it shine? One surprising thing here was this darkness being delivered from such an stealth game instead of some cheap usual cliche. The bright star in this game was the atmosphere. The title screen is beautifully depressing and artistical (if that makes any sense).

First time in months I see something original like this, and Violette is an interesting main character that is hard to come by these days. Sad, sinister, cold? Allegory? If war is hell, then Violette might be burning. The gameplay was clumky sometimes and not very realistic (say, like Splinter Cell and his crazy shadow play) but its so mature that you can even realize how good it is after a while.

Lot's of passion were invested on that game, they gave it lots of well-made details for such little resources, we can all see that, that's why it is good. It's a game who obviously depends on its heavy atmosphere and good plot to be spinning. The big question is, how did I missed it back 2007? How did you missed it? I guess the competition can really crush you for the smallest of thing.

Complaints, negative scores, the industry is crazy, and there is the damn popularity. Better late than never, I found that game and I think it is just too cheap for such greatness.

It shows 6.6 hours of gameplay on record, but it is far more than that. Whenever you use GZDoom mods running from outside Steam, Steam won't register it. The number is cool though.

Free update and sortofa remaster

The free update for those who already have the game, and the state of the game now with Bethesda's implemantations consists in resolution compatibilities with new hardware. I haven't seen anything special other than higher resolutions and other tweaks. Officially, they finally named a few things after Doom's community - turned into a culture - and let's be honest, Doom was defo inspired by Evil Dead movies, so let's call it by the way it must be; it's Groovy.

https://gtm.you1.cn/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1084750977

Andrew's famous remaster of music tracks are included in the package. We already have many mods with fan works but now this is also officially accepted, it comes with the game a nice version of it. It captures the industrial action horror well, perhaps except for a few that didn't (ex; E1M2 sounds too metal when it was originally slower in tone) but overrall they're nice additions.

Doom fans will remember the old alpha had enemies sprites that have never been used in the final version. I saw new enemies in the new expansion that came with it (apart from the original's Thy Flesh Consumed, Plutonia etc), those being; Legacy of Rust and even Romero's Sigil - originally for free on his own website, now included with this game altogether. Ghoul, some sort of rejected Lost Soul, Banshee, Shock Trooper (while mods such as Brutal Doom did better with scientists and new weapons) Vassago, sweet looking sort of Hell Knight with wings. Sadly, I haven't see Imp's version with wings not the "blob" spawning Lost Souls.

https://gtm.you1.cn/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3312160234&fileuploadsuccess=1

Fans have been "remastering" Doom for over 30 years

Just to spoil the situation, GZDoom's mod already have ray tracing in the engine, while the remaster kept things simpler.

Cool to see Bethesda trying to show off some service and caring about Doom and all, but honestly I don't see a lot of point to remaster other than making it easier for the new gen to get interested or acquainted with it. Sadly when I look at basic Steam statistics such as "Find 100% of the itens" only 1.5% of the owners of this game ever did it. Meaning peeps are still not playing it, or when they do, they don't play enough. Maybe more plays it, but with the said engine and Steam won't register or consider the achievements.

I tried to find issues with the remaster to criticize it like a motherfaiker. I finally found a few.

Doom's AI has always been simple of course, but all of them have specific forms of attack and demands specific forms of basic strategy to be taken down (hence why the game still is playabable after so many decades) but a particular enemy "Pinky" (some sort of half-minotaur, half-bull demon) has become dumber than ever before. He's not the only one but so far the most severe case is his casual approaching behavior.

https://gtm.you1.cn/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3312158582&fileuploadsuccess=1

I don't know how they manage to screw with such a simple AI but I saw Pinky walking in circles, or being blocked from coming to my direction many times as if invisible walls were trying to stop him. Seriously not even Snes Doom had AI so confused like this remaster.

I don't get the point to show mods in the game's menu, if the best ever made are outside sources. Brutal Doom for example is not available in there, or the possibility to use the mouse to aim and change the game's basic aiming procedure such as GzDoom and other shape-changing engines are oldschool fan-services done for free. I couldn't find these on this menu.

Remaster Final Score: 8.0/10 - Good for the new gen to come see, but too late for a remaster

Doom 1 Final Score: 100/10 - It was ahead of its time and survived far longer than the industry deserves

Doom 2 Final Score: 8.5/10 - Only a set of new levels and a new gun, the first was more innovative in the past

Expansions - I only had big time fun with Sigil. I never liked Plutonia and Rust's was mildly fun for me

The new expansion Rust with new enemies is fundamentally late, since mods are insane with creativity and have long surpassed it. I see no new emojis, such as health orb or shotgun, UAC logos, pentagram, game's props in the Steam chat stuff. I see no cards either for Steam's profile or backgrounds.

ENG: Score 11 ouf of 10! The worst fears a kid can have is from the people he thought were good, if they do bad stuff to him it's just hundred times more hurting. And if this kid is emotionally sensible, the pain can be multiplied by his perception, as you can see the aesthetic beauty from Wonderlands, before its falls. It happens that these crazy things just made a super fun and never old fighting mechanic, with some creative and dynamic gameplay. Better yet, American Mcgee and his team rightfully leaves EA as Bioware should have done a long time ago. Impressive.

But the last thing you hear before descending to the Wonderlands is ''I need a drink'' from a over caricatured granny, from some over caricatured, 18th smoky world who is curiously leaving Alice's beauty untouched. Curiously her psychologist isn't charicatured neither. You're just on the ugly fourth dimension looking at a third dimension caricature, mirroring your world's real beauty. Clever.

Little silly spoiler ahead I never saw such line so perfectly timed with an event in a game's plot. Already expecting the worse, Alice's mind immediately triggers the Wonderlands, but gradually warping the place into a hell hole makes you think. What is exactly that is happening, assuming this is but an dream? "It's just a game'' claims the skeptics, but the undertones on the dark music will never let you forget to theorize things like beating or touching. Water falls made out of tears are sad enough, but hot grease/tea eruptions? Shocking.

Thoughts, not spoiler On my opinion, whatever is happening, Alice is obviously far away from being a hero. I don't like her so forced voice acting, but she's anti-hero by all rights and means. And even if a darker plot is taking place she isn't saving anything, sometimes not even her own self. In the other half you feel this ''I don't care'' trying to erupt somewhere. That's a common child abuse collateral. No worries, this is just another subtle message from the writer, we live on a society that bad plus rebellion equals to hell. Like literally assuming she-demon powers, like in the first version? Intriguing.

Post Traumatic Disorder victims treatments often relies on remembrances, you do that the whole game but the memories seems to be all but fragmentated, shattering the little reality there is and you just can't trust the Cat. (best voice acting in the whole game) Curiously, he seems to be the salvation. The granny is drinking to get higher, Alice's drinking to get smaller. Step on a violet plant with arms pushing her down, it closes but you don't lose any health. Sad.

My interpretation This is truly an sophisticated psychological triller of the most saddest and subtle meaning I ever came to play and because of that, I'm always fully depressed during and after my gameplay. (the game is great for delivering it so precisely and subtly) I don't have control over my character, I don't know what is happening to her real ''her'' in the third dimension that is, leaving lots of room for interpretation. It makes me feel that I'm just helping the character to get even more lost instead of saving her, and this is absolutelly depressing.

Devs went after some psychologist or pedagogue on the matter, Alice is definitelly being molested on her outter self... But as the game has a non-realistic approach on the theme, it is obvious that some darker forces are taking advantage of her unfortunate condition. So you will find a lot of possible fantasy themes in there and not all of them are on the third dimension... see? If the dark music is cool, so it's when on action, making the game looking even weirder (positively). Outstanding.

To avoid any massive spoiler, I'll finish it. Sick/saddest/awkward game I ever played, which wages an perpetual war between subliminal conceptualisations and a nice third person gameplay. Go for it, but please, this isn't a children oriented game. Speaking of which, always be smart and gentle with children and teenagers... that's what the message is all about. Optimistic?
