The game had me at "You're a Space Marine". Yet add the boomer-shooter feel, retro graphics, fluid movement, Chaos Marines and powerful weapons to destroy the enemies of the Emperor makes this a must play title.
At times you get pulled out of the immersion because some maps are confusing and there is no in-game map to use. A couple times so far I've gotten lost and did circles trying to find the next area.
Outside of that I've enjoyed this greatly.

Brilliant, simple, frustrating, rewarding, easy to learn, difficult to master. Teleglitch both reminds me of the old days of gaming while giving me a fresh feel of "lather, rinse and Repeat. Repeat being the main aspect of the Teleglitch experience, you will be restarting often.

What Teleglitch has for me:
Survival (well, yeah die = Restart) Crafting, Weapon Modification, Story, Challenge, Replay and Satisfaction.
What it does NOT have:
Lots of Ammo, Sympathy, Repetition, Cutting Edge Graphics (not needed), Multiplayer, Community Creators/Modders (that I found) and not having MORE.

Overall if you can appreciate a solid Rougelike that relies on your ability to "react" and make decisions and at times, be a victim of RNG (feels that way at times) you will enjoy Teleglitch. As a gamer of the 8 bit/16 bit era, this gives me a little feeling of games like Flashback: The Quest for Identity and Out of this World/Another World with the way the story flows and the retro graphics with solid sound fx really gets you involved and focused.
Teleglitch definitely deserves a spot in your Library if you appreciate the Rougelike challenge and Teleglitch so awesomely delivers that experience and challenge.

Overall 7.5/10

Personal side note:
(Graphics are not important to me, depends on the game. I really think there could be so much more around this game if there was a community or the Devs allowed Workshop access. I've come across 1 mod for an older version of the game that changed the way levels were constructed in it's random generation, weapons etc. I feel there could be so much more within the franchise, I hope to see something else come along like this gem.)

Such an amazing game. Something so simple in its presentation is rather complex, difficult and gives you a taste of great success while the next round leaves you bitter and defeated. This roguelike will leave you satisfied, challenged and possibly frustrated.
Into the Breach offers turn based problem solver, aliens being the problem and the solutions may not totally present themselves to you at first. Overtime you'll begin planning each move and predicting the turns outcome... praying you predicted correctly. Especially later in the game, because a loss either deals a Game Over or the loss of a seriously valuable tool. Loosing a mech can leave you considering a restart, it happens and never gets easier to witness.
Overall, just like their first game FTL, this game offers hours of replay and challenge trying to unlock the other mech teams. The battles will be challenging, the wins even more satisfying but will require hundreds of hours to master.
Suggestion: Buy

It's actually not all about Pay to Win.
But putting money into this free game does help move you along in research (no real combat advantage over others).
Requires teamwork and strategy
Great game

This series has been one of my favorites for quite sometime! I Purchased GalCiv 2 years ago through Stardock's online market place. Well when I did I immediately became addicted to this torturous test of patients and prowess. I dove head first in and constantly forgot to surface for air. Hours upon hours of play through's caused me to forget my immediate time and space around me. Constantly saying "just one more turn, one more" finding its 2 or 3 in the morning.

Fast forward a few years and I find this game on EA for steam. I jumped up and slapped myself to ensure I was not seeing things. It was true, I purchased right away [when it was >$100] and played. LOVED IT!

The third has greatly and I mean GREATLY increased the shredding that is the AI in all aspects. The AI you can encounter in this game is unlike anything that I see in RTS, 4xRTS, Turn-based RTS and strategy games alike. The computer will adapt to almost every choice and move you make, for better or worse- they are watching and will react accordingly. Now this does not make the game unfair in any sense, I hate the AI's that rush build top tier stuff, this does not. A balanced and true reacting AI based on the assets and characteristics of said opponent.

♦Great graphics and UI
♦AI is balanced and challenging
♦Replay value is through the roof
♦Games can always be different and never the same outcome
♦Creating custom races adds to the above
♦Custom ships
♦Custom ships

If you are a person who enjoys strategy games that require slight micro-management then this one is for you. the learning curve can be a little steep but the reward is well worth the frustration.

Thank you Stardock!!!

Early Access Review
The Forest… It just has a menacing undertone to it. It seems anything you apply the noun of the location it seems to give it a type of pristineness, whether admerason or melevilance. The Forest lands on the latter.
The game experience is rather well put together in its current state (pre alpha). But where to start..
The graphics are are ok, to me the shadows will be the focus when in the woods trying to gather resources. The shadows are done well so far, the shadows move with the sun, diminish in the morning and thicken at sun set. I am sure these shadows will be your worst enemy out there in the future updates since this is where those crazy man eaters are hiding, so keep an eye out. Some of the graphics will seem dated in its current form but they do not take away from the horror/suspense.
The sound effects are quality so far, some need improvement. Right now there is a warning song played when an enemy sees you and changes when they enter attack mode. I wish they made more noise when walking and make sounds themselves. I think the music is a good way to know something is watching you but I would prefer to be able to hear them walking, breathing or talking in order to spot these guys but not yet (this kind of takes away the immersion effect). The rest of the sound effects work for the game, from chopping trees down, swimming, walking and jumping, The atmosphere also benefit from the sound design from rainfall to bird songs all give a good level of immersion to the game.
The Animations and models are basic right now. Swing hatchet at randomly chosen native trying to kill you (one of only 4 I see) , repeat. Now there are stronger enemies but they too also only share a few different models. With that said these models (or lack of) do not take away from the game play at all, the models are terrifying in any situation. The firee light and animations are also done well and the light from the fire does get blocked from an object and creates their own shadows. But don't get too close to your fire pit/fire pole or you will be burned. But these also burn the enemies and wildlife too. So place some fires around camp and they help fend off those bad guys.
Overall the game is quite fun so far, tho a bit repetitive on building and crafting (as of now) there are only a few diff buildings you can make and walls to help protect you more will come I am sure, but after a few hours of play you will have built all buildings/traps that you have. So the main question is do you wait for the actual release or is it good enough to play and buy now?? I say buy it!! You will not disapointed in this survival horror game. With updates coming out almost once a month the content coming will keep you interested in the game. Each new start also creates a new starting location or new map (not sure on this part) but each start is a new place so far. Buy it be safe and get to chopping trees!! Its your only hope to survive; BUILD!

Well where to start.... Graphics
Yes those visual friends of ours that tickle our eyes in jolly old delight.
They are here in plenty tho a little dated the comic style in the way the game is presented is very
nice. The lines colors and shades work well in this style and allow you "oooh and ahhh" at the screen as you
fire away with one of your boom sticks.
The next great thing in this game is loot and I mean LOOT every where. Its what its all about. after getting killed a few times and getting very frustrated with the game it pays of when you find some badd *** gun and take down the next few waves with an ear to ear grin plastered on your face.. AMAZING!
Next is co-op
Seamless Co-Op. join a buddy's game and play on. Leaving body parts and gore in the tracks of your team. This is how co-op should be.
Splitting money and a trade system between your groups allows no one to be left out of the loot bonanza!
Next...mmmm what is next? Well the over all game play is fast paced and very addictive the game at times can seem a bit of a grind. Constant enemy waves put your poor trigger finger to the test and push the meaning of ammo conservation to the test. But then you find the loot bin and the grind had paid off, nicely too. The mission system shows how hard the next mission will be and if you need to roam around to level prior to your attempt is a great option.
A level 4 taking on a level 6 mission will be very tough but levelling is easy in the beginning. After level five you get a skill point to spend in one of 3 trees to make your toon yours and yours alone.
In my opinion this game sets a fast paced shooting callery of bandits, monsters, robots and other evil doing creatures. My advise is to lock load pre-pair your fingers and dive face first in the sea of bullets ahead and enjoy the visuals, game play and the company of a stark-raving mad friend to accompany you on this blissful murder feast.
Enjoy!
Graphics 8/10 Gameplay 8/10 Co-op 10/10 Controls 9/10 Content 9/10 Replay 7/10
