When I first heard of Undertale, I was one of those "oh look, another Earthbound/Mother clone that completely misses the point of the original/fails to replicate the feel of it" folks. Boy, was I wrong when I finally got to play this game. It easily falls among those games which manage to reach to me on an emotional level.

....I'm sorry. Calling Undertale "a game" would be an understatement.
Undertale is not just a game. It is an experience. An experience of thoughts, an experience of emotions. An experience of a wonderful story about loss, tragedy, family, friendship, love, self-acceptance, and DETERMINATION. A story about growing up, a story about choices, a story about one child changing the lives of complete strangers for the better. Throughout the adventure, this experience will make you laugh, will make you cry, will make you feel all kinds of emotions and all in just a span of few hours. Some characters you will most likely adore upon first meeting them, others you will grow attached to as the story progresses; even the "random encounter" creatures have their own personalities and small stories tied to them, all which you can discover as you interact with them during battles.

And this is the element which I love the most about Undertale; the interaction during battles. By performing different actions, the beings you encounter will open themselves up to you and reveal who they are, and it all pays off by the end of the adventure, because you make a connection to all of them-as I mentioned above, your very acts of kindness change the lives of these creatures in ways they couldn't possibly imagine. And in return, you gain their friendship and love. You, a human, become one of them.

What also helps with getting into the atmosphere of the game is the soundtrack, which is quite possibly one of the best I've heard in years; a collection of chiptunes, orchestral music, synth/electronic music and occasional metal/rock compositions thrown in create a wonderful mix that you will most likely listen to for days on end.

I'm not just recommending this game to everyone who hasn't tried it yet; in fact, I highly encourage them to give it a try, to dive into this adventure, and live through the experience for themselves. I did, I will never forget it, and I will never regret it.

P.S.; never gonna do Genocide Run. Ever.
