The Invincible is an incredible experience.

Although you could call it a beautiful walking simulator, I feel like that would be doing it a disservice, even if that is what it is at it's base. The Invincible tells a story of a crew who have discovered that a planet is not all what it seems. And through this an intriguing, emotional and suspenseful story unfolds.

I was not familiar with the novel myself, but the game features incredible voice acting performances, breathtaking visuals, awe-inspiring designs and artistic style. It had me hooked from start to finish and I will be checking out more of the games alternate endings. Dare I say I am also seeking a copy of the novel because I want to be even more immersed with the source material that I hear this is loosely but faithfully based off of.

It's not without it's flaws. There were some performance hiccups and a couple graphical errors and there was a point where it wasn't overly clear on where to proceed. However none of this detracted from the experience and I wish I could experience it for the first time again. It's just that good.

I would rate it a 9/10, and wholly recommend it if you are seeking something heavily story driven, linear yet beautiful. A game that makes you wonder. I only wish it were a bit longer, as I'd love to see more of this universe!
