Destiny 2: Lightfall is the latest expansion in the Destiny 2 franchise, and while the story may not be the strongest, the systems in place are truly remarkable. Bungie has done an excellent job of implementing new features and improving existing ones, making this expansion a great addition to the game.

The story in Lightfall is primarily filler, serving as a bridge between the previous expansion, The Witch Queen, and the upcoming expansion, The Final Shape. However, while the story may not be the main strength of the expansion, the seasonal stories are certain to propel the overall narrative forward. The seasonal content offers a range of engaging activities and missions that keep players engaged and invested in the ongoing story.

One of the most impressive aspects of Lightfall is the new weapons and gear that are available. The weapons have been meticulously designed and balanced, providing players with a wide range of options that are viable in both PvE and PvP gameplay. The gear is also highly customizable, allowing players to tailor their loadouts to their playstyle and preferences.

Finally, the seasonal content in Lightfall is truly outstanding. The first season offers a unique story, new weapons and gear, and a range of activities to keep players engaged. I expect the other seasons to follow suit. The seasonal content is designed to be accessible to all players, regardless of their level of experience, making it a great addition to the game for both veterans and newcomers alike.

In conclusion, while the story in Destiny 2: Lightfall may be filler, the systems in place are great, and the seasonal stories are certain to propel the overall narrative forward. The new weapons, subclass, and gear are highly impressive, and the seasonal content provides a wealth of engaging activities for players to enjoy. If you are a fan of Destiny 2, Lightfall is definitely an expansion worth checking out.

Look, I'm not the biggest fan of rogue-likes to begin with, but the "rogue-lite" genre has always appealed to me. My previous favorite was Rogue Legacy, for it's incremental upgrades + cool graphics + fun combat.

Hades completely surpasses Rogue Legacy. The graphics are phenomenal (if you get a chance, play on an OLED, oh my gosh it is beautiful). The story so far is much more engaging than any rogue-like I've ever played, and the combat is to die for (heh). This is the first game in a long time that I think "just one more run".

If you are hesitant at all, just get this game. I promise you'll enjoy it.

I feel like I'm not playing the same game as many Steam reviewers or some of the professional ones. The graphics are great, it is an obvious evolution from SS3, it's funny, and most importantly, it keeps exactly what makes Serious Sam stand out from the crowd of shooters and pushes it into 2020. If you have not played Serious Sam before, I suggest you watch some videos of the last couple games and look at the evolution for yourself. This is very much an old school shooter with a nice coat of paint on it, and it's exactly what I wanted. My main issue is it took so long for it to come out!!

Also, where is survival mode?

I will not pretend that people are not having issues, but I can say I've had no technical issues myself at all (minus some slight lag) and so that's part of why I'm loving it so much. I'm sorry for anyone who is having issues!

There's so much to say about this game that any review I write on here could simply not do it justice. Destiny has been a franchise for over 5 years now, and it's gone through many stages - from, in my opinion, straight up bad, to incredible, back to disappointing. Now, with Forsaken and Shadowkeep, Destiny 2 has confidently arose to prove that it has what it takes to not only be an amazing game, and the best it has ever been, but even better than the first Destiny game.

I truly believe there is something for everyone in this game, but you might need to put in a little extra work to truly see it shine. For those who simply love the gunplay of FPS games, Bungie has improved on what they did so well in the Halo franchise by creating a wide variety of guns that just feel good to use.

The story, while a bit confusing and hard to follow, has taken great steps to be able to follow the lore both inside and outside of the game, expanding upon a universe that has vast worldbuilding and great potential for all future expansions and content.

The cooperative and competitive modes are excellent for those who prefer one or the other, or even just like to hop in every so often to finish a quest or play with buddies. My favorite content has always been the raids - 6 player PvE content that challenges you in every way - puzzles, jumping, teamwork, combat, communication, and quick thinking.

I remember the first time I truly fell in love with Destiny - it was completing the King's Fall raid with my brother, late at night. We had tried for hours and hours and it finally clicked, and we were able to finish it. Everyone who loves this game has their own story about that. Friends they met, content they finally completed, a weapon quest that had been eluding them for months. The perfect roll after weeks of grinding. While not all of those things are for everyone, like I said - there's definitely something here for you, if you are willing to jump in and give it a shot.

Destiny is my favorite game and will be the franchise I follow for years to come. I'm anxiously awaiting watching Bungie grow this game into exactly what their vision for it is. I hope you'll join me for that ride.

Edit: Almost 200 hours later and it's still amazing, but the Undying grind was sure real.
Edit 2: Beyond Light is great!!!

This game is, so far, my GOTY for 2019.

I absolutely fell in love with the gameplay just from the demo. The graphics are charming and high quality, and the puzzles range from obvious to intricate. I had a blast figuring out how to get to the end of the game and there is still so much to do! Hidden chests, gold barrels, and throwbacks to cult favorite characters hidden all over. I highly recommend this game, and if you are at all skeptical - try the demo.

I could write more but I really feel like this is the sort of game you should try mostly blind, and discover for yourself.

What can I say - if you are a fan of Tales games, you owe it to yourself to pick this up.

I've played all the mainline USA Tales games, and a few of the JPN ones. I have always loved the simple but effective stories about friendship and the power of happiness and whatnot, but I definitely was getting a little tired of it after Tales of Hearts R. Tales of Zestiria started and ended strong IMO, but really fell short during the middle-end of the game.

The reason I bring up all the Tales games is because of how similar (yet different in combat) they all are.

If you have never played a Tales game before, it's a standard JRPG story/world for the most part, with an action based battle system that is tweaked in every entry. Instead of choosing your commands from a menu, you are actively fighting (say, combos as in a fighting game) your enemies. The rest is your standard fare - gold, new weapons, secret areas, new characters, betrayal, cooking!!!

This game has the best beginning of any Tales game I have ever played. The combat system is entertaining and active, and the camera actually works, unlike Zestiria. The heroine is powerful and dedicated so far, and I really like how ruthless she is compared to Sorey from ToZ.

No AI issues so far for me.

Amazing PC port as well! Graphics options, 60fps, controller support, everything you'd want.

I highly recommend picking up this game! It would be good for your first Tales game, or simply the next one in the line!

Serious Sam won me over as a teenager when it came out, and I've carried that love for the series with me. To say I was excited for this release is an understatement - after a particularly grating Sunday, I saw that it was announced for release on the 20th (today) and couldn't wait.

I even ran home for lunch today to check it out! It blew me away. If you aren't familiar with the Serious Sam series, I suggest looking into it before picking this game up, but it's a bunch of guns, a bunch of enemies, and a lot of secrets and open spaces to fight through. This is the exact game that I fell in love with in 2001, but in VR, with dual wielding. That means a full singleplayer campaign, co-op, online versus mode, and survival all here for you in sweet virtual reality.

Locomotion can be something to get used to - it defaults to a teleportation mode, and you can also strafe with the control sticks/touchpad. I looked on the discussion forums and found a cvar for actual movement with the control sticks, and it was my favorite way to play. Motion sickness varies, but I get it bad with some games, and this game barely made my stomach feel anything.

It runs solid with my GTX 1080, and I imagine it will run on the lower end VR capable cards as well, as Croteam has always been very good at optimization.

I had been talking with my brother about co-oping all the Serious Sam games together, and he was lazy about it - now we can co-op it in VR!!!

I truly hope Croteam goes all in for VR - it's obvious they have a passion for it, and their IP's also fit well. If we could get the rest of the Serious Sam franchise, as well as Talos Principle, some of the best "flat" content would be in VR.... let alone what else they've been working on.

A huge, huge thanks to Croteam, for expanding my view of gaming a second time. I hope a lot of VR enthusiasts are able to enjoy the world of Serious Sam for the first (or perhaps the hundredth) time!

P.S. Check out the hippie blood mode - it can be quite refreshing.

(Using an Oculus Rift with 2 sensors in 360 mode. Works great, still planning on getting a third eventually though.)

As a Serious Sam fan since the Gathering of Developers demo disk back in the 90s, I was *incredibly* psyched to see that they were jumping head first into VR. I'm not the biggest fan of Early Access, but Croteam is an exception for me. They consistently make quality games (if you have never checked out Talos Principle, do so!!!)

It's pretty short, but a very fantastic experience. They just added co-op, and I'm confident many more things are on the table. So far, it's quite hard for me, which is a great excuse to replay and get better. Thanks Croteam, and I hope you have many more exciting things for us!

Update - 11/26/18 - Almost two years later, and this game is one of the top VR games that I suggest to people. There's a decent amount of content, co-op is fun, and it's just a great game for any Serious Sam/Croteam fan to enjoy in VR!

Divinity II is an action-RPG game set in a fantasy world, with the most apt description I can come up with being like Dragon Age with a single character and the ability to turn into a dragon. You can tactically pause, but it hasn't seemed to be of any use yet.

Anyways, I've played 12+ hours so far and it's completely engrossing. No, the graphics aren't perfect, and sometimes it may seem like the game isn't polished as much as it should be, but I was itching for an action RPG game and you can't go wrong wiht this one. The Divinity series as a whole is a great RPG series filled with humor and just plain fun. I fully reccomend it to anyone looking for a fun RPG game.
