As of the 6th of May, I changed the review to "recommended", as against all odds PlayStation has rolled back the mandatory PSN account linking that would've locked out many players (including a good few friends of mine with which I play the me) as you can't make a PSN account anywhere in the world. It's limited to about 60-70 countries, which doesn't even include all EU countries.

The game is fun, microtransactions are soft paywalls that you can easily grind your way through, receives updates often, has many difficulty levels that can appease to whatever your need for a challenge is, and it even comes in two flavours of enemies that you can choose between.
It's a very big change from the first installment, and for the better.

Signed, a veteran from the Creek.

Marvelous. A full length VR game (roughly 16 hours long) well worth its full price, with very thought out mechanics and an incredible level of immersion.
This is a must buy for all fans of the HL series that get their hands on a VR headset.

A classic. Third and (for now) last of the STALKER games, polishes and adds some extra mechanics from the previous two, making going off in sidequests and artifact hunting enjoyable and plenty rewarding. However it also requires an effort from the player, as you'll need to take things slow and patiently, read through what NPCs and documents you find tell you, and expend some time exploring. Like with many older games, it doesn't hold your hand all the time and partial failure can have its consequences.
That said, it has its faults. It's still quite buggy and you can get locked out of certain areas due to the game hard-crashing when you try and go there, forcing you to load an earlier save to attempt to bypass the bug.
Definitely a game for the patient. Remember to save often.

I liked this game. A lot. I didn't mind the huge amount of DLC that they released. You know why? Because it was a way of supporting them and their free updates and heists. DLC weapons and weapon mods don't break the game. You can play DLC heists without owning them, you just can't host them. The events (Crimefest, Hype Train, Spring Break) were all about supporting the community, giving back to it with free content in bulk.

But in this last event they just flipped us off. People grinded objectives with that free content promise, and what did we get? Microtransactions. Those very same microtransactions that they promised twice wouldn't ever exist. And how do they plan to sell them? They're just weapon skins after all! Well, easy enough, they've nerfed all weapons and made the skins so that they increase the weapons' stats. You want your weapons to be as good as they were before? Pay up.

EDIT: It would seem that now they went slightly backwards and drills drop as well. While I'm still not comfortable with this, if you can get some money out of it on the market and already own the game... it's not like there's much left to lose anymore.

EDIT2: After Update 100, the microtransactions scheme seems to be off the table. Now all dropped safes are free to open. You can play once more with a clear conscience.

However, I still stand by my recommendation: Don't buy the game. Do as I say, not as I do.

Pure puzzle porn. I have not had this much fun with a puzzle game in a long, long time. Increasingly challenging, but not frustrating. A great mix of the concepts behind Minesweeper and Picross, but more complex.
