I know I'll get some time out of it, and I know I bought it after hearing of instability and other-such issues; but gave them my vote anyhow and forked over the $70.
Just wow... It's another tale of a launch that feels like a beta (and at times even an alpha) The core game is fun, but it really is in a sad state at launch. I hope that will improve- but it's just sad to see the industry pump out unfinished products and expect it to be unchallenged. I will very likely not make any further in-game purchases (not that they would even show in game as of launch) and sincerely wish for major improvements to some deck-plate issues that seem a result of either poor planning, workload issues, or simply procrastination.

Multi player can be an interesting grind, but it takes even more patience on account of the game crashes. Additionally, if you lose connection to steam for any brief period of time, the game will notify you with a window- with the only option to "quit" to your desktop.

Buyer beware, It's a sloppy experience all things considered.

(Edit: A week later and the crashes have only gotten worse. Fix your game! I can't even play SINGLE PLAYER without it crashing EVERY MISSION!!!)

At its best: a rewarding and addictive experience. The deck building feature lets you tailor your abilities to your play-style/role and there are so many variables to be min/max'd. The higher difficulties really make you work for every inch of progress-but it just makes every success all the sweeter.

At its worst: It's nearly impossible to hard carry, and you'll be in for a bad time if you solo queue- leaving you with either airheads or bots (who aren't much better.)

Do yourself a favor and find a reliable 4 queue, gear up, and stay sharp- there's danger around every bend. Play through the earlier difficulties to unlock more cards and familiarize yourself with the ins and outs of the base game, then prepare yourself for what lies ahead.

Early Access Review
From the trained professional, to the mad (possibly homicidal) scientest- KSP offers an excelent gameplay experience for one and all who are willing to explore the vast expansion of space... so long as you don't accidentaly bump the spacebar.
