Hades is a game about a Greek demigod who wants to reach Olympus.

In the story, you live Zagreus, one of the most mysterious characters in Greek mythology, sometimes saw as the son of Zeus and Persephone (who shapeshifted into a Bull[?]!), son of Hades and Persephone and he is also mentioned as an Ancient God worshipped as the "first Dionysus".

You'll find which Zagreus we have in this game by playing it.

Hades is a roguelike.

The level design is perfectly matched with the procedural generation of the dungeons, the levels are always the same, but they always feel fresh, new.

The difficulty is on point, and the mechanics of the game are absolute and perfect. The game also provides you with a "God mode", which is absolutely amazing because it's noob-friendly, so people can also enjoy this gem without being hardcore gamers.

You can adapt your powers and weapons to different playstyles, playing "slow and steady", "high risk, high reward" and, "balanced". You can also just "run amok" and destroy everything you want, just pick your poison and you're good to go.

Even though you know what will come ahead, the game levels don’t ever feel repetitive at all.
The game punishes you very hard for every mechanical mistake, but also provides you with the chance of overcoming all your failures.

Hades is as beautiful as an Epic poem

From the character design to the construction of the main locations in the game: Tartarus, Asphodel, Elysium, and the Temple of Styx, everything is so beautifully detailed that you can only be sure the game was made by people that really loved working on this game.

The soundtrack has elements that merge from post-metal to folk, that matches perfectly with the breathtaking aesthetic of the levels, the situations, and even the dialogues between characters

The story is wonderful and starts to gather as you finish the game, all the characters are but shadows in the beginning, and it was an amazing surprise to watch their development as I interacted more and more with them between my runs.

In Hades you can:

Fight a horde of monsters
Meet and speak with a wide variety of Greek gods and characters from the Epic Poems
Find a soulmate
Reunite couples separated by the Fates
Travel in Charon's boat
Make social links and give gifts to your friends and family
Pet Cerberus
Go fish to help to load the kitchen's pantry
Upgrade your weapons
Decorate your house and your room
Meet the daily routine of a worker on the Underworld administrative department
Use an undead man as your training dummy

Hades is a masterpiece.

Pros:
Very fun gameplay
Aesthetically beautiful
Great soundtrack
A story-driven roguelike
Awesome character development
You can make social links with all characters

Cons:
Very hard for non-hardcore players (but can be fixed if you turn on the god mode, it'll take some time, though)
The story takes a little bit too much to start developing
The game is short, it could be a little longer, but I can understand the game was also shaped for speedrunners.
