They seem to have fixed most of the issues and I can recommend this game now to everyone. Go play it!

It's unfortunate that the game isn't the best product in its current state because it's a great RTS game with loads of fun things for new players and access to a balance of strategy and micro. I've just had skirmish crash on me thrice, and have experienced numerous desync issues in quickmatch, especially team games. I hope these issues are fixed soon because I would love to recommend this game to my friends.

TLDR: Great story, great music, awesome art. I'd recommend playing it to experience everything around the gameplay but the character control was disappointing and frustrating at times.

Pros:
- Loved the visuals. The old school cartoon style went well with the motif of making the narrative of the game more "child friendly".
- Awesome music. I bought the OST after finishing my playthrough and enjoy it a lot. It also added to the game experience without being distracting, which is what you really want.
- Patrick Stewart's narration is cool.
- I loved the story. Without spoiling what it's meant to be related to, even though you can see the story beats coming they are still impactful, especially because you interact with the characters so much and you want them to do well. It is a simple and fairly predictable story executed well.

Cons:
- The gameplay is not immensely replayable. I don't play a ton of puzzle platformers so maybe this is just related to the genre, but outside of wanting to experience the story again I don't see myself going back to play it. I know how to do the tricks and the only reason I'd go back to them is for the achievements.
- Controlling the characters feels bad a lot of the time.
- - Why do I have to hit up when I get next to a block I can't walk past? Why can't I just keep holding forward to climb up? It's the only thing I can do. It's especially baffling when you come across obstacles that require you to hit up, then hit down. I can't walk on this platform just let me hold forward to move onto/off it.
- - There's a weird delay on actions a lot of the time. Holding and letting go of characters doesn't feel snappy like it should in a platformer, and carts are a nightmare. The game buffers actions when you input space to grab it, but the actual grabbing-the-thing action takes so long and isn't snappy at all so it feels like I'm just waiting for things to happen more so than doing them.
- - This was especially frustrating in the grid puzzle, but switching characters also feels really slow and annoying. You can't switch characters when one is inactionable due to being on a moving platform, so you'll hit space to make a platform move, then wait for the platform to be done moving so you can switch to the other one who wasn't doing anything the entire time.

It's not that I outright dislike the game. I would still recommend this game to people just for the experience of it, but man this is not a replayable game, at least to me.
