If you're a fan of karting simulations, this game is definitely worth considering. However, be prepared for a frustrating experience due to numerous game-breaking bugs that can occur early on in your playthrough. The user interface is also a major drawback, with confusing navigation and a generic look that feels like it was taken from a free online template.

Despite these flaws, the driving mechanics are very well executed, which is what initially drew me to the game. The attention to detail is impressive, as evidenced by the realistic sound effects. When I found myself caught in a gravel trap, the sound was so convincing that I had to take a moment to appreciate the level of detail. One area that could use improvement is the engine revs, which are barely audible unless the throttle pedal is fully engaged.

Overall, while the game has significant flaws, it has a solid foundation and potential for future updates. If the developers can address the bugs and UI issues, this could be a truly outstanding karting simulation.

A slight improvement from the previous game which was also a slight improvement from F1 2020 when it comes to driving mechanics, but in terms of anything else it's a massive downgrade of a previous game which itself was a massive downgrade from it's previous game.
Still a fun one to play if you're a Formula 1 fan. Also the last game with my boy Seb :( (for now)

Even thought the game is one of a kind at the moment, since there are no other proper F1 manager games, the game is ok to play but has a long way to go.

What I mean by that is that the game feels unfinished. The graphics are decent but I cant get over the fact how lame it looks when someone spins or crashes. Turn 1 in Canada is perfect example I think as it shows just how stupid it looks - a car that locks up will often crash in to the wall that is not even facing it's direction. Also, every spins looks like puncture-caused and worst of all, the tires dont even spin when the car is spinning.

As for the AI, It is good enough for casual gamers that spend most of their time in x4 or more gamespeed but hardcore F1 fans will easily notice everyone is not taking the proper racing line. The AI also feels pretty unfinished because of how bad it is at times when the cars have to recover from spins (if they end up in gravel traps or runoff) often, they will rotate in place or hit another car/wall when rejoining. Driver mistakes are all the same. They either forget hot to break and hit the wall going 300kmh or they just lock up and hit the car in front. Thats something you wouldnt see from Formula 1 drivers that often, yet it happens litteraly every race in the game.

Physics are also one of the worst aspects of the game. Crashes look overexaggerated and unrealistic - the cars never lose anything more than front or rear wing and they seem as if they can go on forever when out of control after crash (Ofc they reach a wall before that happens, but still looks awful).

Commentary is just pathetic. There's an obvious attempt to add more drama to the game but it ends up being awful as hell. I bet Crofty wouldnt say half of those things he was forced to say in the game. All the emotions are faked and there are like 20 lines in total that the commentators say. It would have been better without any commentary.

Music is unsuitable for the F1 game. Main menu music sounds like some copyright-free music from some cheap ass simulator game made by a Russian guy in two days on his 20th century Toshiba laptop. Overhyped and overdramatic like it's an action/shooting game. I'm lucky to have spotify play in the background just to get that mess out of my ears.
In the other hand, other types of audios are pretty well done. Those radio snippets are very sweet and a good detail that should remain and maybe still improved in future.

The game overall is a bugfest. Sometimes when the driver pits during the race and the graphic for pitstop shows, it just wont go away leaving you unable to control the driver until you reload the save. Also when reloading the save the game will just crash and not allow you to use the same save again.
Times and times I've seen that when something happens to some driver (for example gets caught up in the crash) he doesn't lose any time and is back where he was without any damage, but replay shows how he ended up in runoff or gravel trap. Thats something that breaks any possible immersion which the game really needs.

However what I like the most about the game is the UI, as it's simple yet efficient. I also like animations. They are smooth and flawless although the lighting in some scenarios ruins it, but overall I like them very much. Little details that I wouldn't expect from this game surprised me. Such as animations when the driver wins and his onboard camera show him celebrating like when Max won his world title or when Ricciardo won at Monza.

The game really is a disappointment. With Motorsport Manager (2016) being the only competition, it was expected from Frontier to make the upgrade and add additional details and mechanics having the official F1 support and licence, yet they succeeded in making even worse game then some really small developer made 6 years ago. It really is a bugfest and disappointment but I still believe it could provide a good foundation for future games to come. After all it is the first game of this nature to the developer team.

cant wait for formula 1 manager to get a proper, licensed f1 manager game. this is still the best we have for now with all of the details and 'modability' potential. would recommend to anyone new to the world of motosport.

very good simulation but i have to say i didn't fall for the free weekend trap. it was fun racing something much different from formula series tho. might consider buying it in the future.
