If you've played the original trilogy, this is an excellent side story that runs parallel to the Muv-Luv Alternative timeline.

Its a great story with tons of content. There's action and romance, but its main draw is slice of life and comedy. The character development in Majikoi is great, and all of the routes were equally entertaining and the true end route was awesome.

My only concern is the quality control. Once I got past the prologue, I'd bump into a spelling error a few times an hour. There were also a couple sprites that were messed up (a variation each of Usami Kyojin and Ahega Kuki). Nothing major, as its a huge game... but they could have used one last pass when editing. I would have also greatly appreciated achievements.

Any fan discs translations would be an instant purchase. There are so many wonderful characters here, and I'd love to see more of them again.

Sometimes when my kid asks me a question I yell "VANGERS!!!" at him and he has no idea why. This has been going on for a decade. I've never played this game and neither has he.

2021 edit: I tried playing this game and I have no idea whats going on and I never will. VANGERS!!!

Very short but it makes its point and doesn't overstay its welcome. It's been a while, but I believe the creator gifted me a key which led me to purchase her other work, Baptism.

Samantha Arehart's works were my first visual novels -ever- which led to me checking out Doki Doki Literature Club which I then followed up with the behemoth Muv-Luv series, and now I'm a huge fan of the genre. All thanks to this little guy right here. For the price, you can't go wrong... just be aware you're getting a 20ish minute bite size short story for the price of a piece of candy.

Grim Dawn is a classic action RPG in the same vein as Diablo 2. Being a fan of D2 and their previous title Titan Quest, I picked this one up while it was still in Early Access. Several hundred hours later, I can easily recommend this game even 5 years after launch.

While its core battle mechanics aren't anything groundbreaking, Grim Dawn carefully balances mindless hack'n'slash with clever character customization and diversity. Every character dons two classes, each bringing their own unique talent tree. Between this and an additional third Devotion tree, the amount of builds and customization available reaches well beyond its $25 price tag.

Extensive lore, a tremendous amount of unique loot, and well composed lore flesh this world out into something that feels very tangible. Grim Dawn's soundtrack is well composed and includes several tracks I revisited outside of the game. It sets the mood without being overbearing and repetitive.

The multiplayer component is definitely an after-thought, as most of the focus is on the single player experience. I found rubber-banding, lag and disconnects fairly common when playing with friends. With that in mind, don't expect online co-op to be an integral part of the game.

What keeps me coming back is the overall feel of the game. The combat "just feels right." Skills hit hard and feel meaningful. Tearing through dozens of undead at once feels very satisfying in this game. And although active development has finished, we have 5 years of post-release content and balance patches to solidify the experience.

I have far more hours invested in Grim Dawn vs Diablo 3 and Path of Exile because they just got it right. And although yet another generation of ARPGs are on the verge of release, this game will always have space reserved on my hard drive for the inevitable next playthrough.
