So every obstacle in the game is cosmetic, it doesn't matter if you crash into it. Telephone pole? Highway guardrails? Tree rooted in the ground? Doesn't matter, you can drive through it with no consequence. So what's the point then? You're basically driving through a flat plane then, hitbox-wise. There's no incentive to stick to the roads when you can just drive through trees. No sense of danger.
