Sharing a girl gamer's ever-growing handheld console collection~

Sometimes I get my hands dirty, away from gaming, by restoring and modding old Gameboys. I used to accept commissions but I'm currently on a hiatus to focus on other hobbies. Yes, I juggle a lot of hobbies...unfortunately. Can't help it lol. In case you're curious, I've also been modding and collecting gaming controllers and keyboards, collecting and learning different instruments, procrastinating on learning several languages at once, working on polymer clay and resin crafts to create artisan keycaps, collecting and flirting with guys on dating sims, and a lot more weird and crazy hobbies to mention. Do you think I have time to do all of that? Of course not!

So many handhelds yet not enough time for gaming. If I had to choose only one portable (emphasis on portability) handheld console *before* Steam Deck got released, I would still prefer a modded PS Vita.

Almost 2 decades ago (waaaaay back in 2005), Sony was already ahead of its game when it comes to handheld gaming. It's a shame it was discontinued and was considered a failure despite its many potential. Perhaps it could have been more successful and better appreciated had it been released during the peak of the pandemic when people were trapped in their homes and had a lot more time for gaming and other hobbies. That was probably the time when Nintendo Switch peaked and won the pandemic due to the sudden Animal Crossing hype. I hope Sony will also release another standalone handheld console soon (without the need to solely rely on remote play).

When the time comes that I eventually have to let go of my collection of handhelds, I would still hold on firmly to my Steam Deck. It has everything I need in a handheld console (or portable gaming PC, rather). My new travel companion whenever I'm required to touch some grass (as if I ever leave my gaming dungeon lol).

My pink Gameboy Advance SP has already been sold so it's not included in the photo. There are still a lot more GBA SP I have to finish modding soon, to add to my collection again. I also have a pink Gameboy DMG, Gameboy Pocket, and Gameboy Micro (that's still a work in progress). There's just a lot of Gameboys I've finished modding in the past year, some I've sold while some I've kept, so I only selected a few to include in the photo.

Fun Fact: pink is *not* my favorite color. Thou shall not be fooled.
