Gameplay is incredibly fun. Yes the game outside of that is unfinished, but I've already gotten hours of enjoyment and have no reason to believe that they're not going to continue producing content. Yes there's a cash shop, but it's purely cosmetic thus far.

Didn't play V2 so I can't speak to the comparison between the two, but it feels like a stronger base to the usual Paradox dev cycle than previous games. Hopeful for it's continued development.

Most fleshed out Paradox release I've seen. Regardless of what your feelings might be of their DLC practices, it isn't fair to compare the features available at launch to those available in a continually developed 7+ year old predecessor. CK2 had much less available at its launch, and the lessons learned over the course of its development are apparent here.
