Postal 2 is a legendary game that still manages to hold it's relevancy to this day, which is to say - quite amazing.

The defining quality of this game, which made it stand out, is the freedom that it can offer to the player. All the others FPS games we saw prior to this game did not have such ambitions as to make a game where you can do whatever you want and whenever you want. Even the main quest you can do in whatever order you prefer. But in the slight chance that you like kicking stuff and shooting at it(inluding shooting piss out of your hand into the face of unsuspecting pedestrians), you might enjoy this game main quest aside. You are not alone in the game. Your buddies, the RWS staff will help you with any problems should they see you struggling, and should you not anger them. The game is very self-aware and offers much satire and social commentary. But all this things aside it is just an enjoyable game. That said, i meant just the regular game.

Vanilla game has a conclusion. So i had no idea that players will recieve some kind of expansions down the line. First came Share the Pain. And all this expansion had to offer were online play and some new areas in the game. At the time i had no awareness as to what linux or mac were, so it was literally nothing to me. I did not mind this expansion very much, and online play did not appeal to me as i had the taste of CS, UT and Quake and they are objectively a better online expirience.

But then came Apocalypse Weekend. And it was a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ car crash. The game that i loved and that had a conclusion now recieved some half-assed cash-grabbing continuation. It was horrible. The freedom that was Postal 2 was gone from this expansion. It added on two new days of awful linear missons, that feel out of touch and unnecessary. You see, this game's reputation is not due to great shooting mechanics, but it's all we got left in this add-on. Additionally in this expansion they ditched the realistic atmosphere in favour of some supernatural elements, which in my opinion belittled the game even more, and contributed to overall 'out of this world' feel. This add-on had no need to exist. And cemented the game into the ocean of mediocrity. Along the line there were this thing called Postal 3. Now, I did not play this game, and being russian myself i feel shame that it exist, so this mention is all i can allow.

The news of the development of the new postal 2 DLC, called "Paradise Lost" were surprising and promising. I can't remember any other cases of developers going back to their old product to produce new content(Romero gets a honourable mention, though). Basically, it's a new Postal 2 game, set after the events of the ♥♥♥♥♥♥ Apocalypse Weekend, 12 years ago. This DLC is awesome and you definitely should buy it. It has the gameplay and charm of the original Postal 2 except for few minor details, and it was a pleasure playing it.

What i did not like in "Paradise Lost" is the fact that the god awful Apocalypse Weekend was acknowledged as canon. With this, they did bring the supernatural aesthetics to the dlc. I would enjoy the game far more if that wasn't the case.
They plug the motion picture 'Postal' in the dlc and convey some kind of pride for it's existence. Look, there is nothing cool about having uwe boll make a movie about your game and it is the lowpoint of the franchise if you ask me.

In the end of 'Paradise Lost' they tease us with postal 4(or as i would prefer, the real postal 3). Let us hope that RWS have learnt from their mistakes, and will deliver us good game one more time. I definitely recommend Postal 2 and the DLC even if the game is over 10 years old and the game engine struggles. They even give you a cool metal track for free! So have at it.

tl;dr: Please don't buy this game.

If i had to compare this game to MK9, the only thing i have to mention is the inclusion of framedata in the movelist(which injustice also had). Everything else is worse.

While the colourfulness and tongue-in-cheek atmosphere of mk2 translated well in mk9, mkx has the dark and grim atmosphere of the original mk1. I don't mind that personally, but they also got all the sluggishness of that game too. So dare i say that was a whong direction?

Astonishing amount of resources were reused in this game. The animations and moves were ripped from their previous games almost untouched. This includes Injustice, MK9, and even MK vs. DC Universe(Yeah, remember that one?). But not only that, the game has characters in story mode, that are identical to those of mk9, but can't be played without using mods. They are fully playable mk9 characters that can't be played. New characters, appearance of which may seem new and fresh to some, still can be rehashing year old animations and moves. And while it's almost impossible to bring something new to the genre, simply reusing something year after year can't satisfy the need for novelty of seasoned folks. Speaking of new characters, the only one that i believe is worth mentioning is Tremor. Which is very sad, considering he is not really new to the series and is a DLC character. As is Jason Voorhees(2009 variety), who probably has singlehandedly sold few hundred thousand copies of the game, while being arguably the worst character in the game from competetive standpoint.

The game's launch was a failure on PC. HVS were the ones making this version. And while they did(again, arguably) a recommendable port of mk9 and Injustice, it seems that the time and talent was scarce for making MKX for PC a decent product. After the torturous launch, about 3 month to be exact, the patch came out, dealing with particle physics being a mess, making the game almost unplayable. So there was 3 months of time when the console gamers happily played the game, while at the same time PC playerbase was literally dying. As of now the game has a daily peak of 1k players. And it will be going down some more.

So on his twitter Ed Boon, the director of this game, announced that he finally have succumbed to a better netcode. The netcode that is being used by a plethora of fighting games(fightcade, rising thunder, SFxT, SFV to name a few). And while this might seem as great news, because mortal kombat needed a better netcode for years, the bad news certainly do outweight.

The long awaited Kombat Pack 2 as well as new rollback netcode will not come to PC. After some time of corporate silence on the matter, the PR guy(or some ♥♥♥♥ like that) gave in and told us the truth. Updates for this game are now console exclusive. After the failure that was this port, NRS have fired HVS, and now there is no people to work on this version. This is now literally a dead game. And not even a year have passed since it's release.

Don't forget 'ez' fatalities and krypt unlocks for money, slowing down the koin gain from fights, and deleting save files for a patch.

♥♥♥♥ NetherRealm studios, ♥♥♥♥ Ed Boon. I suggest boycotting any their new products from now on. Another PR failure for WB.

Good gameplay, dope music, Oldschool style is maintained well through the game. Can be as challenging as you want, from "i'm too young to die" through "nightmare". And it's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ free. Check it out, more people should play this.

A Portal wannabe game. The gameplay is pretty good, if sometimes dull. Inexpirienced player would probably have more fun with this game, but if you played something like portal before, you probably wil not have any problems. It's very short though(30-60 minutes of single player experience), but it packs a multiplayer of which i have not had a taste yet. It's pretty cheap and game comes with steam cards, so go for it.

This right here game is garbage. The only positive thing one could say about it - it's dirt cheap(you could buy a copy by donating hair from your arse, for example).

Game's written in some kind of GUI, so you can notice flaws right from the start. You can't alt-tab properly. You can't even get to your mixer if you want to dial game's boring repetative music back a bit. The graphics are as stock as you can imagine, i haven't found one fresh idea all the time i played. The difficulty is ridiculously spastic - you go around killing everything you see, next thing you know you get beaten with no ability to do something. You simply do not want to waste time with this game.
My advice would be buying some other, good rpg here on steam, even if it would cost you a few coppers more.

Fairly good at first, repetitive and frustrating later, obnoxious and infuriating at the end. The level designer either had made really bad and stupid decisions or he's a twisted sociopath. I don't think it follows canon, so there is not even that. Buy this only as last resort. If you really want to, i would advise buying They Bleed Pixels instead.

One of the best games Rockstar have to offer. If you can bear through the bugs'n'glitches, and you have a controller, definitely check it out. Game consistency here is better than any of GTA games. Bully is full of content and worth the money it costs by far. The atmosphere reminds me of the first Harry Potter games. Basically, as everyone says it's GTA about kids. Too bad the kids aren't able to play it. I only wish i could play it back in 2006 and not now.
Aslo music is superb.
