Every single thing one would expect and want out of beat 'em up will easily be found in Streets of Rage 4. The combat is extremely fun and way deeper than it seems at first without being obtuse, the music is out of this world thanks to the genius work of Olivier Deriviere, and the level design has visual and gameplay variety in spades. The game is an instant recommendation for any fan of action games, especially if they have someone to play it with. Playing the classic Streets of Rage games on the Genesis has always been one of my most cherished childhood gaming memories, and I'm glad I was able to pass this feeling on to my kid by playing and finishing the Genesis games at first with him, and then by playing through Streets of Rage 4 as soon as it was released. What started as a reluctant participation in playing the originals with me on his part ended with him saying that he felt a little sad that the game had ended too soon. As far as I'm concerned, these final sentiments of him, a young kid that had no nostalgia whatsoever to affect his judgement, confirmed to me what I've felt within the first minutes of playing this game; that Streets of Rage is an absolutely worthy addition to this iconic series! Bravo Dotemu. Bravo.

Secretly one of the best games of 2019. A story heavy stealth game that absolutely shines due to its engaging storytelling, gorgeous aesthetics, mesmerizing soundtrack, and fun stealth gameplay. Extremely recommended!

Darq is a beautiful, clever, and atmospheric surreal journey of a puzzle game that doesn't overstay its welcome. It gradually introduces its ideas to the player, and most puzzles feel fresh as it doesn't reuses them throughout its campaign. The difficulty curve is very fair, as the game doesn't have any puzzle that's too obtuse to solve. The environments are beautiful too with a deliberate attention to detail, and the visuals overall are clearly influenced by the unique style of Tim Burton works.

The fact that this was mostly made in only 3 years by one developer, without taking anything away from the contributions of the rest of his team, is simply inspiring. His integrity, respect and affection for his audience isn't lost on me either.

Absolutely recommended if you enjoy intriguing puzzle platformers.

Vampyr is certainly a unique game! The combat is fun and challenging and (It's almost a cliche to say this at this point but it's true!) it is really similar to the "Dark Souls" series style of combat, though not as in depth as those games. The world and atmosphere are top notch, even if I found them to be a bit too depressing and creepy at times, which is probably what the developers were going for so... good job Dontnod I guess! The story and the characters are definitely the highlight of the game, with a dialogue system that is pretty meaty and a morality system that affects how the story plays out depending on your actions and what kind of vampire you want Jonathan Reid to be.

All in all Vampyr is a great memorable experience with plenty of personality and charm that's worth your time if you appreciate RPGs with a good story.

Very engaging and enjoyable gameplay that gets the adrenaline pumping all the time, especially at the higher difficulties. Combat starts out simple enough but the game constantly adds multiple layers of depth that present the player with a tremendous amount of freedom to tailor the combat to his playing style!

The cyberpunk atmosphere in this game is also masterfully relayed to the player through the art style, lighting, color palette and that sublime soundtrack, composed by non other than Susumu Hirasawa, the composer of Berserk! The story is also pretty intriguing with a finale that's certainly... memorable!

10/10 would crack knuckles again.
