Long overdue. I love this game. It's my most played for a reason, but if you're going to keep releasing new micro transactions you need to do your part of showing that at least some of that money made is going to supporting the community being profited off of. I wouldn't recommend this game to a new player in its current state with casual being an unplayable infestation and competitive being completely dead. Community servers are a side grade and should not be the life blood of a game by one of gaming's largest players.

A fantastic game in every regard, even without mods. It's like if a medieval RISK board game let you participate in the battles.

Your actual participation is fun because the combat is surprisingly great with being able to respond to attacks at different angles. You have to respond to blocks, incoming projectiles, and charging horses. You also can give orders based on the current environment and the makeup of your army, such as ordering your crossbowmen to take the high ground on a hill while the cavalry charge. I never got tired of besieging castles, clearing out bandits, participating in tournaments, and going head to head with rival nobles. You can customize yourself and companions by getting armor, horses, and weapons. All towns offer different goods and different prices, making exploration more rewarding.

Outside of combat you move around on an elaborate chessboard where the simulator chunk of the game comes from.
There's different factions with unique troops you'll be training or fighting, and your actions matter relative to your reputation with other nobles. Climbing up that ladder with the other vassals to become likable so that you can be rewarded more territories. There's factors like honor, renown, and right to rule that determine your standing with the rest of Calradia. You can get married, take tasks from other vassals in your faction, rebel, recruit, attack, and everyone seems to respond to it. There's also your troops morale that requires you to manage the size of it, your food supply, and other tasks that I really didn't find tedious because of how interlaced it was with the exciting parts of the game.

First person shooter roguelike, makes me think if like Risk of Rain 2 and Borderlands had a baby. Good game.

Love the characters, each have upgrade routes specific to them which can really make playing a new one feel like an entirely different playstyle. Weapons all have super unique designs, punchy reload animations, and great variety in how they deal damage. Scrolls give a run its own uniqueness too as they can mess with your mobility, your damage, your health, your money, etc. The level tree (that's permanent) makes no run feel like a waste, really rewarding to see visible improvements in your ability to get through earlier stages way faster. Even though they've added in varying bosses and difficulties, I would like to see them do different levels with unique landscapes aside from the four already in.

Love all the work the artists and devs put into the game, it paid off! Hits the right sweet spot of difficulty to keep me playin' and I'm ♥♥♥♥ and balls at roguelikes.
