Giving this a fat recommend.

I have noticed quite a few glaring issues with the MCC. I've gotten the wrong achievements for missions, audio issues, inability to co-op campaign for a while and some bugs that have had me revert to checkpoints or lose all my XP in multiplayer for some reason. I hope 343 continues (or starts depending on who you ask) to iron this stuff out.

I also miss the old XP system Reach had. The seasonal items are a chore and not as satisfying when everyone's getting them in the same order rather than saving up credits and purchasing whatever you want. And for some reason, campaign doesn't give XP anymore which kinda sucks.

With that said, I love this collection. After all, it's Halo.

Halo as a series has had a gripping campaign with lore you can spend hours sifting through. The multiplayer is tight and had a blast with friends doing custom games and playing through the campaigns with my friends. Brings me back to my Xbox 360 days. I'm really hyped for Forge and the rest of the series to come out. This hasn't been perfect, but I've been able to get my money's worth thus far.

Who better to put in charge of a new sci-fi universe than the ones who made Knights of the Old Republic?

Probably the game I'd choose to showcase how powerful storytelling in games can be. Maybe not so much for the main story itself, as intriguing as it may be. But as you build relationships with your crewmates, it really doesn't feel like a game anymore. Especially once you take into account that these crewmates may die, and that hinges entirely on your decisions. Having been presumed dead for 2 years, it's really intriguing to see how all of these people react to your reappearance along with the full impact your decisions in the first game had. Yes, I did cry at the end.

Combat is greatly improved from the first game and an amazing third person shooter in its own right. Activating abilities for you and your teammates and coordinating strategies on the fly is exhilarating.

Is the third game really still not on Steam?

This game is a masterpiece that has stood the test of time.

It combines the Bethesda formula with the spectacular writing and tone of the first two games. The numerous amount of factions and the reputation system make interactions all the more interesting as you build up both allies and enemies simultaneously, with a multitude of branching quests that make you really feel like you have an impact on the Mojave. It gives a lot of replayability too as you make your way through the different quest lines. The main questline is hardly much of the game at all, as the sheer amount of sidequests manage to balance quality and quantity. As the player, you get a lot of agency to determine the outcome of almost all aspects of the story. Characters are also convincing, as (especially companions) showcase motivations and actual development over the course of the game.

Character creation and experience gathering is equally as rewarding with dialogue interactions requiring the player to have poured in enough skill points into a specific trait, such as explosives or medicine. These have weight as they actually provide you shortcuts, items, or just more evidence that the writing is on point in this. Leveling up also eventually allows you to sift and pick through a variety of perks to reinforce where you've poured your skill points into.

The combat, in all honesty, is lackluster on the surface level. There's a great deal of bullet sponges and landing shots can be really funky. This is all greatly mediated, however, by the V.A.T.S. and the perks that make it pretty interesting to experiment with. You can make use of a great plethora of weapons, as well. You can go the simple way with standard weapons like pistols, full melee, really fun energy weapons, or explosives.

Another truth one must muster is the game is by no counts pretty. The visuals haven't done it any favors, and there's a lack of convincing textures and a sheer gruffness to it all. Honestly, it doesn't prohibit the fun of the game near at all. In a way, it just reinforces the fact that a wasteland isn't SUPPOSED to be pretty.

There's quite a few bugs packed in here. It makes sense considering the development time Obsidion was given to release this. I've only had a few that really hindered my experience. All I can say is don't feel to guilty for save spamming in this one.

Overall, hard recommend.

A stellar example of employing that D&D formula into an isometric, turned-based video game (with co-op)!

The story is easy to sink your teeth into, as you start off an oblivious prisoner to being on your way to godhood. It contains a lot of twists and turns that keep you on your toes, along with a good variety of dialogue choices to add more weight to outcomes.

The companions in this game are great with each having their own personality, character arch and side quest. The amount of classes and races serve greatly in replay value and in making a party super diverse. All characters being voice acted is nothing short of an incredible feat.

Combat is really satisfying, with a great deal of elements that make strategizing feel engaging but never too overwhelming and visually stunning effects for almost every skill. Leveling up is tantamount as you sift through a multitude of ways to make sure you don't get absolutely bodied by that stupid troll guarding that bridge. There are some egregious difficulty spikes at some points, but overall it never feels burdensome or grindy.

Fat recommend.

Truly a fantastic game that blew my expectations out of the water. Quick and satisfying action and a plethora of weapons at the player’s disposal. If you enjoy fast-paced shooters, this game is a great choice.

Simple and fun indie title. While I would love a little more gameplay, with the pricetag it has this game delivers. It's a hybrid of platform and combat, and I get a Mega Man vibe from it.

This is a great rogue-like indie game, with satisfying 80s visuals. The gameplay is extremely satisfying. Worth checking out.

I love this game. It provides a challenge and allows the player to go at their own pace. The visuals are fantastic and the controls are tight. For the price it is at, I'd say it's worth it.
